For those of you who are expecting a PIF from me, I haven't sent them out yet. I plan to list a few more items before sending out..so stay tuned. Thanks!
Karen
Anyone receiving PIF packages from me, should get them by April 15.
Hi Jeanne,
My PIF package arrived yesterday and I've already used one of the label dies! Thank you so much. I remember when I resisted buying a Big Shot for so many years, and now I can't do without it. Dies are my guilty pleasure.
Karen
Here are a couple of stamps up for grabs. They are both unused. US only, PM if interested. Thanks!
1. Magnolia corner stamp - TAKEN
2. Spinner stamp set

I find myself wishing I could see what people make with what they have gotten from others here. For example, I have never used foil. I am intrigued by it but don't really know how to use it. Then, there are the stencils...and the dies...and the stamps. I have a few corner stamps I am not using. I would really like to see what the person who claimed the corner stamp makes with it as it might give me ideas how to use mine.

Glad you are enjoying it so quickly! Have fun creating!
Here are a few more stamps. These are rubber stamps by Unity Stamps and have not been used. They are unmounted, with foam backing. US only, please PM if interested.
I have two each of the ray guns and the sentiment by Thoreau. One Thoreau quote taken, and one remaining

There are differing kinds of foil. I have a Minc (hot foil laminator). Used on:
This requires a laser printer or other application of toner to hold the foil, then it gets run through the laminator with foil.
I know there are other methods, like using adhesive, sticky tapes, etc. I mostly use mine for words.

These are gorgeous Pat! I haven't had good luck using my laser printer with foil, but it may be that the toner cartridge was running out. I've had better luck with the pre-printed designs by Thermo-web. I think I need to pull out my foil and laminator again soon.

Thanks Karen. I have enormous supplies of foils. One thing I noticed (or maybe it's actually two things...) Foil can vary in quality significantly. I am Queen Of The Cheapettes, but for foil, I'd advise buying name brand. The other thing is, what you are foiling onto can affect the result. I find foiling metallic cs can be iffy. Some work fine, some do not.
And just as an aside, a couple years ago Falliday Fest had a foil challenge using scrap foil- I mailed out quite a bit of scrap used foil, glad that someone could use it for something.
I'm VERY tempted by the Glimmer Hot Foil dies, but it would mean investing in a whole different system. I don't think I want to do that.

Wow! Thank you for all of those! They are beautiful!

I know what you mean about the Glimmer foil dies. I don't want to have to buy the whole system either, so I'm trying to pretend they don't even exist.haha! I buy only Thermo-Web and Deco-Foil , which makes me think it was the toner cartridge on my laser printer. I need to try more of the pre-printed Gina K Designs transfer sheets to see how they work before I give up on the laser printer. Being able to print my own sentiments to foil would be wonderful!

Therm-O-Web Deco Foil has solid black toner sheets. You can either die cut the sentiment from the sheet and foil it, or you can foil the whole sheet and then die cut the sentiments.
Here's another stamp set up for grabs. I'm going through my stash today and pulling things out to post. I had a basket of items that I had set aside some months ago, but it somehow got misplaced so I'm listing odds and ends in the meantime. This stamp set comes with matching dies.
US only, and please PM with name and address if interested. Thanks.

Karen - have you tried increasing the dpi on your printer? I’ve heard a minimum of 600 dpi is needed to get smooth toner prints.
I haven't tried that, but it's my husband's printer so I'll ask him about it. We only use it to print documents so it's probably set to some default with that doesn't use a lot of toner or something. I recently bought a new toner cartridge and will give it a try again.

Hmmm, I like the idea of die-cutting sentiments and foiling them, but if I can figure out how to use my laser printer then I won't be limited to just the sentiment dies I have. Thanks for the tip though. I may end up buying some of the black toner sheets just to try it. I don't use foil accents very much at all, but it's fun for the holidays or to add a little bit of shine.Besides, I bought foil rolls and sheets in just about every color so I really need to figure out how to use them!

The toner sheets are also good for using “waste” foil. After you foil a sentiment, you then take the foil and adhere it to a toner sheet. You end up with the sentiment in black surrounded by the foil. You can even take it a step further - since the words are the black toner, you can out a different colored foil over them. And, then begins the never-ending rounds of foiling, waste foiling, double foiling, etc

Oh man, sounds like I could get into a lot of trouble with these! I already spend way too much time squeezing extra dies cut out of my favorite card stock, and using up the smallest bits of paper.
Karen
wow busy day - great foiling tips too. I had thought maybe my printer was not laying down enough toner, and didn't even dawn on me I might have it on "economy" lol
I'm not a new stamper but have recently started back after nearly a decade. To get my stash more "up-to-date", I placed an order with Stampin' Up. In my overeagerness, I ordered 2 of the Love & Happiness cling stamp set. That's what happens when you get too excited, LOL!
I've never PIF'd before but I'd be glad to send the 2nd package to anyone who might want it (U.S. only). I probably won't get to the post office until next week but if you're interested please DM me.

Reason: Item Claimed
A company that I've bought printed toner designs from says that printed designs work best with glossy cardstock. They do that with their designs, and they work beautifully. Maybe it's worth a try?

You should be able to go to properties when you're setting up the print process, and go to advanced and see a choice for best quality or even 600 or 1200 dpi. It's really easy to select higher quality print. It shouldn't involve changing the settings of the actual printer.
