Default Paper question...

I have just been getting back into stamping after a several years break. I have been using leftover GP paper that I had from before but today I tried a piece of PTI white and was amazed at the difference in the crispness of the image compared to GP.

I'm looking at cs and came across different weights. PTI has 110# and Neenah has 80# and 110# and GinaK has 120# and 80#. Anyway my question is...

Which cardstock do I want to start using?

I like the PTI I tried today and haven't gotten to try the other 2 brands.

How does the Neenah & GinaK brands compare to PTI in the image crispness?

Thanks!!!

I know this is technically and alcohol marker (Copic) on cardstock thread but there are a lot of links and useful advice on it - Speaking of bleeding... by MelDeLlanos at Splitcoaststampers

I usually use SU paper. I can tell you hands down that Neenah classic crest cover 80# in Avalanche White smooth and classic natural white smooth are indistinguishable from SU white and vanilla CS. That is my most favorite paper for stamping. I love the texture, the look, the feel and I think it stamps beautifully.

I bought some GP CS in the thinner weight and I don't care for it at all. I now only use it as scrap, when I want to size a die or see how an image looks. I have seen a thicker version and am not sure if that is any better. But that is just my personal opinion. Many people like it.

I have yet to try stamping on PTI or Gina K, but I have read nothing but good reviews on both. Gina K seems to be the thickest CS out there and many splitcoastians like to use that for their card bases.

80# is all you really need when buying Neenah, that is all the heavier I have used for Copics and have had nothing but good results. I use GP occasionally for other uses, or for my daughter to use when stamping. While it is not as good as Neenah it serves its purpose.
