I prefer single sided because, it seems that frequently the ones I like the most in the pad, I also like what is on the back side of those pages. ( so, the decision of how to use it becomes more stressful)
Gosh, do we have to choose one? I find value in them both for different reasons. For example, I like to make envelopes with the one-sided so that the white is on the outside (makes it easier to see the addresses).
Personally, it depends on the project I'm doing. If you're going to see both sides of my project, then I want to use double-sided but if it's a layer for a card or a project then single sided is fine. I will say that G45's are my favorite and I have a heck of a time deciding since I always love both sides so I'm happy for single sides where I don't have to make a decision and save my G45's for double-sided projects, but the scraps get used for everything! lol
I like both.
I often don't like the other side, even though it coordinates. Although I agree about G45s-their back sides are sometimes what I am getting it for bc the scale is better.
But then again, I have problems with pads in general even single sided as I often only really like half the pages. So I tear out the ones I don't like and give them away. It isn't that they are ugly-just not for me. I have friends make wonderful things with them I actually do like which is ironic.

It depends what I am making. Some of the projects I make I need to have both sides printed. I make non card projects more than cards. If I am just making a card I tend to use single sided. I also like single sided and thinner paper for collaging. But when I want to make pages for my "junk" journals or other non card items I prefer double sided.
I prefer double-sided, since it offers more options in card making.
However, I do have a lot that are single-sided and flip through those as well when on the prowl for that just-right color or design.
I prefer single sided. I feel double sided is a waste of paper and money. I usually only like one side of the double sided paper so I tend to stick with one sided.

Thank goodness we don't have to choose one kind or the other! I have plenty of both, and use whichever seems to fit the project. Double-sided pads can make layered cards so easy to design! One problem I have encountered, however, is that some double-sided paper is not suitable for cards that use a foldback - like the drapery fold, or the flipped corner design. I have been disappointed many times to find that the paper cracked along the fold line, and I end up tossing it in the bin. Price doesn't seem to be a factor.
I like both kinds of paper depending on the project I want to do. I lean slightly to the double sided card stock as it’s a bit heavier and the papers compliment one another and lay nicely when I am doing cards.
My desire is to have both sides of double-sided papers actually “go with” each other. Having one side soft blues, grays and rose and the other side a garish orange with black dots is not what I consider as the sides going with each other, IMHO.
Most of my double-sided papers are 12”x12” from a popular company with demonstrators. There are many card styles as well as boxes and gift bags that show both sides of the paper. It is often difficult to use both sides in these situations when the sides truly don’t go together.
Perhaps I should investigate the double-sided papers of other companies.
I would be interested in suggestions. TIA.

I can see your point about not going together. Esp if none of the papers in pack coordinate if that is what you desire. Some people are happy with 24 different designs too...
Ones I would say do have coordination:
Graphic 45
Lawn Fawn
Maybe others can give more companies.

I really love Lawn Fawn papers. They have a ton of different packs to choose from and don't all look the same. At least in my opinion. You can also order 12 of the same pattern in the 12 x 12. Which helps if you are mass producing. They have 6 x 6 pads also.
