I love periwinkle, so I'm really happy with this choice! I prefer the lighter versions, but they're all beautiful! Since I don't have a lot of purple in my supplies, I'm hoping that the craft companies will offer new lines with this color.
It looks like a brighter version of the retired SU Wisteria. Key for me is brighter. I was not a fan of the grayed-out version. A true Periwinkle, though, is lovely.

I'm realizing there aren't too many colors I DON'T like. I stamp with them all. I find it absolutely amazing at all the variations in shades and hues and tints that we are gifted to play with!

I love periwinkle. I did laugh when you wrote Peri in the subject title. Some of us don't like Peri at all (Perimenopause, ROFL!)
I have lots of wild periwinkle in my yard. It is so beautiful. I grew hybrid hydrangeas last year that turned out periwinkle in color. They were stunning. It's one of my favorite colors. I have always loved vlue/violet shades.

That is so funny! When I first saw it, I imagined some very funny cartoons that would be a hilarious play on words. LOL!
I remember being introduced to periwinkle in my crayola crayons (like so many colors). As a child I liked the name as much as the color. Seemed like a fairy-like word to me. (the winkle bit)
It is very pretty. Maybe we will get some new inks this year
LOL on "peri"!!

I think it's really funny that you see "winkle" as fairylike. I see shellfish, in fact periwinkle generally shorted to winkle. Nothing like as pretty as the vinca/periwinkle flower. I seem to be in a minority, I think it's an awful colour, very cold. And I'm telling myself it has those soft hints of purple but that doesn't help. I do like the flower, maybe I need to picture it with a lot of green to tone it down.

Wavejumper- I never thought about that. You are right the name is very fairy like. I know it's a popular fairy name in gaming and the fantasy art world.
Peri was named the main color of the year for 2022. It is the first time Pantone created an absolutely new shade for its color of the year, instead of choosing from its pre-existing library of colors. The hex code for Very Peri is #6667AB.
Very Peri is a combination of different shades of blue and deep violet with red undertones. This is a mix of confidence and permanence, with energy and curiosity. The color name is derived from “periwinkle” — a flower in the blue and violet family. The main symbolism behind Very Peri is creativity, individuality, and personal inventiveness.
As the company said, Very Peri represents “an empowering mix of newness.” The color meaning is all about innovation, global transformation, and an original approach to everything. In graphic design, a Very Peri color schemeevokes the creative spirit and intrigues viewers.

I always think of periwinkle as more blue than purple, so I like it better than the veri-peri. The old SU Brocade Blue is my idea of it as I think it matches the color of the flower better. Just the way my eye sees it, I guess.
It's very interesting to read what others think about this color and how they "see" it. I've always seen periwinkle as a bluish-purple, with emphasis on the purple. More of a bluish-lavendar. It's similar to the way I see orchid as a pinkish-lavendar.
A few years ago, I was in search of periwinkle ink pads, and I found an old Ranger Sea Shells ink pad called "Cool Peri," which later became an Adirondack color. I have both.
I think it's very pretty and I like Sabrina's suggestion of pairing it with lots of green! I think it will pose a bit of a sorting dilemma, though -- do new periwinkle products go with the blues or the purples?!?

I will put it in the area that it looks to be more like it's actual color. Right now mine is in blue, but the sample shown is definitely a purple. Not my fave.
