I have always wanted to try the watercolor crayons but, have always found other ways to spend my $$$.
Those with the Aquapainter are my very favorite way to color! And I also like coloring directly on the stamp and then spritzing with water. Really cool look. I imagine you could even spritz them with shimmer spray  if you stamped it really fast!

I have a question about using Versamark and ink together to stamp. I understand you're supposed to stamp the Versamark first and then the ink and then stamp. My question is this: If you are going to stamp the same image multiple times, should you clean the stamp off between the stampings or just go right back to the Versamark and ink? Hope I'm making sense. And yes, I do know they need to be embossed. TIA
Definitely clean the stamp--otherwise you will get residual ink all over your VM pad!!

Ok. That makes sense. But aren't I going to get Versamark on my ink pad? Am I supposed to scrape any residue off? Or won't there be any residue from the Versamark? I've read about this technique but never tried it because of these questions. Thanks for any help.
I have the plastic marker storage with my 48 markers in it from SU, but I have some others, like Going Gray, Basic Gray, Basic Black, etc.
I know it is necessary to store the markers horizontally, so I'm curious - how do you all store the markers that don't fit in the plastic case?
Thanks in advance!
I bought some cheap pencil boxes back when all he school supplies were out. I took the markers out of the cases and sorted them by colors. I have all greens, blues, and purples in one case and the yellows, reds, oranges in another case. I have the browns and black in with the lighter colors.

I attached the plastic cases that Blender Pens come in to the side of the marker case (use Sticky Strip for this). This holds my Going Gray, Basic Black, Sahara Sand markers.
I then attached my In Color Marker case the same way.

I did this too, with the neutrals markers. I didn't with the incolors since they are only temporary. They just sit on top of the marker box.

Occasional use isn't going to hurt anything. Still, there's usually that one person out there who might do 500 in a row into the same ink pad, lol, which might pollute the ink pad. So, Stampin' Up!'s recommended method of doing this is to use the Stamp-a-majig to overstamp with Versamark rather than stamp the versamarked stamp into the ink pad. Hope that makes sense, lol...seems like a long run-on sentence there.
Like I say, occasionally doing this isn't likely to hurt anything, though.

Is there a name for the effect that you are trying to achieve here?
I would love to see a Stampin' Up only thread here. I use mostly SU products and I browse SCS daily. A SU thread would definately be something of interest to me.
An SUO forum would be awesome- on the general side, of course! I'd like to ditto that motion especially since I just found this thread and it is 9 pages long so there is no way I could figure out what all the topics are without reading it all... a forum would solve that!
I posted this in a new thread, but then got to thinking that some of you might miss it.

The watercolor crayons have become my very favorite way of coloring.
What I have discovered is using the blender pen and grabbing the color from the bottom of the crayon has become my most favorite. It just smooths on like butter. I just did 120 calendars coloring in the flower of the month (retired SU set) using the crayons and the blender pens and I am totally hooked. I used to use the aqua painter, but the moistness of the blender pens makes it so less messy and never having to worry about keeping the aqua painter brush moist.
Plus, the fine tip of the blender pen makes it so easy to color in even the tiniest areas.

I could not agree with you more!!! Watercolor Crayons and Blender Pens are the way to go for me.

Okay, how does the Watercolor Crayons compare to the Watercolor Pencils then? Maybe I should ask how are they different?
I have the pencils.....and have expanded the colors...buy purchasing Prismacolor Pencils. I have spent a lot on those and don't want to give them up because I have found matches to all the SU colors. I enjoy the pencils I suppose because they remind me of elementary school....I have very fond memories of coloring then.
Totally different subject....only for a moment.....I need to ask a question of a Demo. It is a rather touchy subject and I would rather not post it here. Would one of you, nice Demo ladies, please PM me? I need to ask your advise. TIA

Another "Oh, very clever!" I JUST threw out my blender case and I'm getting it back out of the trash. I don't have the gray, black, etc. markers but may some day! Thanks

The case for my blender pens was cracked when I got them, so I tossed it, but I'm ordering more and I'm going to try that trick for my neutrals markers, since I've been trying to figure out how to store them with the rest of my markers!
Thanks for the great tip!!!!
How many blender pens do ya'll have for your watercolor wonder crayons? Just the package of three?
Good question about the blender pens, I would like to know too, how many blender pens folks tend to use. One tip for each color family or just use one pen at a time till it wears out?

I have just the one pkg of blender pens. When you are done with one color you just scribble the color off on scrap paper and keep going with the next color.
Could someone link me to a tutorial on using SU blender pens with SU markers? I LOVE to color my intricate stamps! I can blend well with the chalks and with the water color pencils. But I can't seem to blend well with the markers colors and blender pens. So thinking a good tutorial would help.

I don't have a tutorial for marker/blender pens, but I just pick up the color from the marker on the blender pen and color & blend that way, rather than coloring with the markers and then trying to blend. I've used this method for the color families for which I don't yet have the watercolor wonder crayons.

See, I don't blend well with the blender pens either. That's why the Aquapainters are my choice of tool. You just have to experiment with both of them, though, and see which you prefer. I like both for different things.

Thanks for the tip! I was putting down the color first and then trying to blend - and what a mess! No wonder... I will try what you suggested. That makes so much sense. Thanks & Blessings.

You can also scribble a marker onto a pallette (I sometimes just use the lid of a stamp set) and then pick up the colour with the blender pen. I found once when doing a lot of picking up from a marker that the marker actually got kind of faded out in one spot. I suppose it probably would just get filled in again as ink seeped into the used area, but I wasn't sure so I tried the scribble and pick up method and it works great. You can even (gasp!) mix the colours if you want something to be a wee bit different shade.

OOOH! You will love your earth elements crayons! They are my "GO-TO" ones. I love them all. Did you get the neutrals yet? I thought I wouldn't need them but they are great for shading.
So far I've got soft subltes, bold brights and then the new set will be here next week. I still need the Rich Regals and the neutrals.
What's the weather like in New Hampshire? It's supposed to be in the 50s here (north central Montana near Glacier Park) on thursday, but with 75 mph wind gusts!

We had the warm with high winds Saturday. Today just chilly. Supposed to warm up one more time (50's) next week. The weather patterns have been crazy the last few years! I'm in the "snowbelt" that all the skiers love. I don't ski........Sometimes we get a 12" or so storm and 25 miles away at work it's nothing! I'm up on a hill so occasionally we get snow that doesn't occur just 3-4 miles away!
