I have been away from stamping for a while. I pulled up the stampin' up catalog today to look at the different categories of colors: bright, subtle, etc. There are different names in the groups now. Is there a guide that matches the old colors with the new? Or are the new ones changed in color and not just name?
I still have a lot of retired colors, some from the late 1990’s. The main difference I see is the new colors seem to be brighter, richer, less subdued. Just my take.
For instance, Mint Macaron is similar to Sage Shadow, just brighter. Shaded Spruce is similar to Forest Foliage, again just brighter. Just my humble opinion on some of the colors. Hope that helps some.
For the most part, when SU retires colors and brings new ones out, they are not the same colors as before. That comes with a caveat...some In Colors have come out that are almost identical to past colors.
For a complete color history for SU colors see the various lists in this thread.
