Smile Need ideas for making recipe book cover

Hey everyone,

I have a monthly scrap/stamping group, and for this month I want everyone to make 6x6 recipe cards, bring them to the meeting, and I will put the cards into books, and they will go away with a nice holiday gift. What besides chipboard could I make the covers of the books out of? Cereal boxes?
Trying to use stuff I could probably have laying around the house, or scrap room, and not go out purchasing more stuff. I have plenty of Christmas paper, and embellishments to jazz up the covers, just need idea for the actual cover of the book.

TIA

Patrice

I don't know what brands of supplies you use, but some of the Stampin Up things come with a nice square of chipboard to keep the DSP from bending in shipping.

I always save them, thinking some day I'll put them to good use--a project like yours would be good!

Maybe you have something like that lurking in your craft room?

cereal boxes, the backs of notebooks/notepads/paper pads, some thicker dsp w/or w/o acetate cover... all I can think of right now
