Could someone please recommend a twine you like to use on cards? I am tired of buying twine that goes limp and so hard to work with. I can't decide between Queen and Co , The twinery or May Arts. Would love to hear your opinions before I spend anymore money. Thank you.
Sorry, I can't recommend a particular twine - I don't use what I have, but until you find one that you like, what you can do to improve the twine you have is to run it through some wax. You can use a colourless candle or parafin wax. It will make the wine a little stiffer and the heat from your hands will soften the wax and make the string easier to mould into the shape you want. Once it cools back to room temperature it will be stiff again and keep its shape.

Most of my rolls are Divine Twine that I ordered from The Cat's Pajamas.
I have a roll of Darice twine, which is UBER-SUPER! I picked it up at a craft store while on vacation in Oregon.
I have Martha Stewart twine (the red/white, green, and brown holiday rolls) and it's wimpy.
And I also have traditional bakers twine on a HUGE roll that is actually sold to bakeries, and it's wimpy too. So, when I use it (and the MS twine) I just double up the pieces and it's just fine. I use it to wrap the items I sell on Etsy. For that, it's just great.
I've seen May Arts twine in stores, but didn't buy any. I have the colors that were available, just by other companies. But, the twine looked and felt nice, and would be something that I would purchase if they had a color I needed! The price was also good.

I also got a couple of huge rolls of the real bakers twine from a bakers supply website in red and white and brown and white. And mine is wimpy, too. Like you said, I just use it doubled up and it works better. I also used the red and white a lot on Christmas gift tags and gifts for my grandkids. There is no way I will ever use up those giant rolls in my lifetime, lol. But a bargain is a bargain, right?
I found a tutorial online about making your own colored twine with crochet thread and markers. I made a few batches of different colors and have enjoyed using them on my cards. But the crochet thread is wimpy also, and I need to double up with it.
Do you just want white/colored baker's twine? I ask because my favorite thing to work with is the stampin' up linen thread, but it's kraft colored, not variegated. Not sure if that is what you are after, but that is what I like.
I got some twine from The Twinery and it seems okay, but I have nothing to compare it to.
I also have some 20 and 10 lb. solid colored hemp cord, which I got off Etsy. It's stiffer than twine. Sometimes that's what I want, and sometimes not. The 20 lb. is really too thick. The 10 lb. has been more useful so far.

Thank you for all your comments. I am looking for the coloured twine. I see on some cards the twine is bright red and white and looks nice and stiff-like.
It really looks like twine. I have bought Martha Stweart, and Stampin Up in the coloured ones and I don't care for them at all. Even the colours are kind of dull.
I have been looking at others since my last post, and I was wondering if anyone has tried the Divine Twine. It looks a little stiffer and I really like the peppermint colour.

Like mentioned above run your twine through wax. Any place that carries quilting supplies had it. Its small and made specificly for threads. Works great. I don't have any of either brand you mentioned but I love May's Art ribbons. They are great quality so I would imagine the twine would be the same way.

Are you saying to just run it across the wax block or candle? Thanks
Sewing departments have wax that comes in a plastic case with grooves on the top to run your thread (or twine) through. It's not messy and is easy to use.
I love May Arts twine. I purchased 100 yards a few months back and it's almost gone! It's fine enough to lace and even stitch with and is easy to work with. I had a hard time finding it but Simon Says Stamp carries giant reels of it. It is a fine twine if that is what you are looking for.

I have Divine Twine, The Twinery, and May Arts. I like them all. I prefer the Divine Twine. The Twinery is more colorful to me (less white strands, more color IMO), so I use it when I want something brighter. May Arts is a bit stiffer/thicker. There is another company which I have been ogling that has multi colored - Trendy Twine is the name. I can't speak for the wimpyness of it , though -LOL. I bought a bunch of twine thinking I would use it often but the reality is I reach for my waxed bookbinding thread more than the twine. I don't have a favorite brand but I love how the waxed thread holds its shape. One warning is that some of the twine may more wax than you like.

I guess I better look at Divine Twine and The Twinery. I love twine! I really like Mary Arts but since I can't buy directly from them and the LSS that sold it closed down I'm out of luck. One thing I like about SU twine is it matches their colors and I'm a little OCD on matching.
I actually LOVE Trendy Twine. They have an awesome color selection. It's a bit thinner than the Twinnery's twine (which I also like). I find it easier to thread it through buttons and tie it when it is slightly thinner. But it's not wimpy, lol, love that description!

What an interesting thread! I thought twine was all the same. Except for colors. I have only ever used Stampin' Up's twine because the colors match the inks and papers. How does SU twine compare with the other brands y'all have mentioned?
My favorite is May Arts. It is just the right thickness and keeps its shape. We have a few colors to choose from here .
My favorite is May Arts, too. I think it has 'body' yet it's soft enough that it lays nice when I tie it, drape it, or whatever I decide to do with it. I have it in a few different colors because it's the best I've found for how I want to use it.
I actually love the twine I got from Pick Your Plum. I'm not sure what brand it is, but it is a bit thicker than other twine I have used and I like that. I also used twine from The Twinery and really love the boldness of the colors.
I LOVE my Stampin' Up! Baker's Twine and it comes in several colors that match SU! stuff. I don't have a ton to compare to but it is thicker than the holiday Martha Stewart ones (I had those for gift wrapping a few years ago).
My favorite twine is actually burlap string by May Arts; I bought the ivory and the natural and LOVE them. I use them separately and together; and threading buttons with the string is a dream. I have some of the colored twine (don't remember if it's Divine Twine or the Twinery), but don't care for it very much. While the colors are gorgeous, they don't seem to go with anything I use (I don't need it to match exactly, but the colors are really off for the kinds of cards I make.)

Caution: You are entering an artistic zone. This is not clutter - this is creating. These are not pajamas - it's my work uniform.
I like the hemp colored crochet thread at my local Jo-Anns, and you can ususally feel it before you buy it, which helps. I use crochet thread for a lot of my scrpbooking-the neutrals match everything, and if you must have it match, you can just put your finger on it and pull it through your ink pad. Just make sure you wash your hands before you get excited and pick up your card!
