Default need help with b-day party invitation

Doing surprise birthday party invitations for someone turning 40. I was hoping for something a little more updated than "lordy, lordy, Dan's turning 40." I know you creative minds out there must know some other really cute sayings ... or a good website to look at.

Let me know!

And thanks in advance!

Default birthday party cards

Do you have atheme? my friends have done a "Young at Heart" b-day and did a kid themed card with little boy stuff like in the Toy Box set for a 40th.

Another friend did a big baseball theme since her hubby <LOVES> baseball. So her cards had that theme. Think about something he loves, and go from there. It will also help with the decor, favors (Cracker Jack boxes were given at both parties of these as a little favor).

Although it wasn't for a birthday, my friends also had a luau, so everything was Hawaiian themed, including the hula girl my DH won in the limbo contest (that was a sight!)

Some possible themes others than what were listed above might be:

A night to remember/A day to remember-night and day theme

A Pocket Full of Memories-you could use SU Pocket fun set and have party invite on a pull out from the pocket

Maybe pick a favorite song and go from there-ooh the possibilities are endless. Like if he loved the song "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" you could do an American ideals kind of thing (chevys, whiskey, cherry pie)

Destination Anywhere-if the b-day boy has a favorite vacation spot like Mexico, the Bahamas, Key West (Jimmy Buffett parrotheads come to mind).

Okay, I'm sure there are lots more-hope this helps!

Default birthday party invitation

It was kind of a rush deal, so I had to come up with something fast. But I think I came up with a really cute idea. It was a bar-b-q with margaritas party (what else in Texas?) with bandana-type decorations. So I used the SU Yeehaw set with the boot on the front and used SU font to put "Over the hill ... but still kickin'" Then used a strip of real bandana to tie it closed. As soon as I get a chance I'll post a photo.

Thanks for all the great ideas!

Sounds so cute!
I made adoption announcements for my friend's son. They own horses and are originally from Montana so we used the Yeehaw set as well to introduce Cole who "rode into town" on October 31st. We also said his parents were "Kickin' up their heels with joy!" when he arrived, and had the boot with curly wire from the back like it was jumping.

Love the new birthday idea from you, I may be stealing that one!

Default Yeehaw

Oh my gosh! That is such a cute way to announce an adoption or birth! I love this set and never would have imagined I would have used it in so many different ways. And you've given me another great idea! I love it!
