Default My new goal...

My new goal is to make at least ONE (two would even be better) card with ALL of my stamp sets. I have so many sets that I haven't inked yet. Guess I will be checking out the gallery for inspiration.

Wish me luck.

I think that is a great idea. I would make two at a time. That way you have one for a guide and another to give when needed. Also, you might find that some sets are not what you really want and you could sell or trade them.

Maria -
I have been wanting to to that myself. I have so many stamp sets and single stamps that have not seen an ink pad also. It was my goal to do it in 2010 but never did do it. Thanks for the motivation. I think I will make an attempt to work on it every day starting tomorrow.
Let me know how you are doing!

I came across a card this week made by atsamom. The description of the card said she is challenging herself to ink all of her sets also. Maybe you can find some inspiration in her challenge.

Good luck with your project!

A great way to do it is not to think too hard about it---or perhaps that is me--I will think and plan and debate and then not much happens. Use the sketches in the forums and just start stamping away and creating. Some sketches may not work for certain sets but there are hundreds of sketches out there to use. And Splitcoast has so much inspiration too. And then the fun part--you have lots of cards to give to others to brighten their days!! Sounds like a great challenge. I don't have very many sets but it still could be a fun thing to do but I think I will have to wait until I finish my Christmas cards and Christmas projects. Have fun!!!!

I keep telling myself to do this, too. I even have some sets that havent been cut apart! <gasp!> How bad is that? Maybe 2011 will be THE YEAR we can all use every single one of our stamps. =)

I has some sets that were unmounted as well, but I made it a point to keep up with them and mount them because I figured if I didn't mount them then I wouldn't use them. In fact just last night I mounted another stamp set

Great idea, Maria. I would like to do this too. I just keep buying more and more stamps but I already have so many. It's a bit like saying I'll try to cook a new recipe every week - very challenging!

Oh how I love this idea. I have such a hard time and forget that I can use more than one stamp set per card. Oh I would love to hear how it is going for you. I have been trying to get my mojo back and maybe this is how to do it. Thank you and I wish you the bestus of luck.

I am also doing this, although my goal is to use every image stamp I own on some sort of paper project. I've made a huge dent in my collection, and it's been hugely satisfying. I started on Jan 1, 2009 and am not done yet. Darn it, I keep getting new stamps!

I agree that this is a fantastic goal and I think I might try it too. It is a shame that we buy and buy but dont use everything that we already have. Why is it that we are not satisfied until we get that stamp/stamp set that we "need" so badly and then it just sits ... here's to using all my sets at least once ... !!!!

I've been working on the goal this year and I have to admit - it's a love/hate thing. It has been great fun to go back to the trusty old sets that have been gathering dust. And on the other hand, new sets get mounted and ready to use immediately. I have also discovered lots of new color and sketch challenges on various blogs because I am quickly running out of ideas. It's mid-November and I am on set 242!!! I have not counted my sets - this challenge is going to help me figure it out. Unfortunately, I think I have almost 100 to go. Wish me luck!!!

Check out my gallery - maybe it will help to see my numbers moving up!! (Or discourage you if I don't make i!!)

I made this goal at the beginning of 2010. I'm very close to completing it, I just have a few sets that I always used in scrapbooks. I may just make some baby cards because these are definitely little boy sets (trains, dinosaurs, etc.) It was fun to do this, and I'll probably make a point to use some of these sets again this year. I discovered that I actually "missed" some of my old sets.

This looks like a great idea. I counted my stamps and I think I can play along with this one. I have some that were never used.
I am already finding myself going to the same stamps . :(

Would others like a "Sticky" thread to measure our progress through 2011? People with huge pattern paper stashes could play along.

You know the old saying: "Use it up, give it away ( sell it ) or throw it out" LOL
If people get stuck without an idea for a stamp someone could offer an idea
Thanks for the idea

I thoroughly enjoyed doing this. While I'm nearly complete with my "use my stamps" challenge, I definitely would qualify under the "too much paper" fetish I have.

I've been trying to use my stamps as well. I realized just how long they have been sitting there unloved. I went through them and have put 10 sets aside that I just won't use.
As for my PP, that's another story..lol I'm trying to use up what I have before I buy anymore. Until I started to purge down, I realized just how much paper I have.

This is a great idea! Good luck to you....
Last night I was going through a SU catty from two years ago. I use mainly SU.
I saw so many stamps sets that I have that I don't use a lot and still like.
It almost made me sick! I thought I should not be planning more purchases at all.

I can't force myself to use each set tho. I would shut down and not do anything. I have sneak up on the task I guess, and just be more mindful of what I buy and what I use!

This sounds like a good plan...If I could do 2, maybe I could push for 4 and I could send 2 of each to OWH...

I received a book called 365 cards. I am going to try to take each one as inspiration and create my own variation using the supplies I already have. I may use the colors, stamps, or layout of the card. Good Luck ladies!

You are sooo right! I've spent some time looking in the gallery and sometimes when you see a stamp set used in a different way it gets your creative juices flowing.
