I was the hostess for the Savannah, GA workkshop that Michelle Zindorf had this weekend. Last night after teaching for 7 hours, she came into my stamping room and made cards with me until I had mercy on her (around 11:45 pm ---- she is not a night person) and let her escape. If you ever have the oportunity to take one of her classes do it. I found out that everything I had ever done to try and brayer was the exact wrong thing to do. I was using the wrong paper, wrong ink, wrong pressure, wrong starting point ------pretty much wrong everything. I am happy to announce that I am now doing everything pretty much right. I sure do wish she lived closer to me ---- oh the cards we could make. Oh well, she doesn't leave until tomorrow, so I still have tonight to bug her.
Your getting me even more excited that Michelle will be coming to my area, Minnesota in a month. I can't wait to learn alot and have fun at her classes.

Is there anyone else from SCS going to the New Johsonville workshops? I'd love to meet some SCS friends there!

Hi there, Kelly. It's going to be in New Johnsonville, TN in July. I'll PM you with more details....I don't want to be a thread stealer. If anyone from this area wants to PM me, please do.
Of course, she won't be coming to my house....but I am still excited!
WOW!!!! Well I'm quite envious!!!!! Michelle was at Marco's Paper week before last and I got to do a M&T card project she was instructing. She is very nice and quite humble about her talents.
She had a small album showcasing some of her cards, oh my goodness I still can't imagine how she goes about making them!
Good for you -glad you were able to spend some time with her!!!!
Last night I looked in her album and picked out the card she did that looked like an American flag with horses going across the front and asked her to show me how to make it (it was a direct to paper technique). I didn't have the same horse stamp so we used the horse from the Wanted stamp set. We were almost finished and she said, "Oh, I just thought of something different". She tore a piece of paper and masked an area and sponged it and --- yoila, mountains appeared in the background. My 17 year old son came in later and looked at the card and asked if I had made the card. When I said yes he told me how much he liked it. It's great when you get praise from your kids.
Wow, that's what happens when you need to check your glasses strength. That should have read voila, not yoila. I hate it when I make typos and don't have any way to go back and change it.
Lilann -- I just came in from shopping a short time ago, and was thinking about the US flag with the horse in the forefront card. It was my favorite -- although I liked all of them very much. She mentioned it was direct to paper method. I just wondered if she used Adirondack ink for that as well, any idea?
She showed us how to use a post it note and create waste by sponging and the sky the same way. Turned out very nice.
It was so hard for me to leave, I just wanted to continue to watch her and continue to ask her questions!!!!!
I have three sons, so I know exactly what you mean when you impress them its a BIG deal. Kudos to you!!!!
We actually used the Ranger distressed inks because they have a raised edge (it was a direct to paper technique). However, she does use the adirondack ink for alot of her projects.
I recently took her classes and it was worth every red cent! She is very kind, explains things wow and once you learn the secrets it is so easy! I loved the class projects and the time alloted was perfect.
I totally agree about the time alloted. I hate feeling stressed because the instructor is going so fast that I can't keep up if I run into a problem. I was very relaxed and was able to enjoy the class because I wasn't rushed.
This is the link to the card Michelle and I made last night. I hope you actually get to see this. I have never posted a card before and Michelle had mercy on me and is showing me how to do this.

That is soooo cool. Now what should we be buying in paper-I'm going to a Rubberstamping expo in 4 weeks

LUCKY YOU! I've admired her work for so long. She is just amazing.
Does she ever come to the West Coast? (Portland area) I'd LOVE to take one of her classes, and I'd host her in our downstairs guest suite so she wouldn't have to pay for a hotel! (are you reading this Michelle?)
She is actually going to be in California during the fall. I am sure she would consider coming to Portland. It looks as if she is booked until next year though.

Which day are you going? We are going to the Saturday the 19th 10:00 am class. Driving over from the Jersey Shore, it should only take about an hour to get there.
