Just want some feedback....I have a bunch of ATC's from when I used to do swaps. I recently found them while cleaning the craft room. Most of them are just beautiful but they are just sitting in a bag not being used. Would it be okay to make a card with these on the front? I feel awkward using someone else's work but hate to see these go to waste. What are your thoughts?
I would feel uncomfortable using them on cards I plan to give personally, like I
Was trying to pass off someone else's work as my own.
However I wouldn't hesitate to make them as cards if I was donating them to a church or military or whatever, for others to use. Just my personal feeling on it
I agree with Lynne - give them to anyone you want, but don't sell them. To me it's not much different than using a pre-made embellishment of any other kind, but just enough different to be weird making money off of it...
Go ahead and make them into cards. If their name is on the back of the ATC then I put their first name and first letter of their last name on the back of the card so people know I didn't make it. I do give those cards away to my SIL to use. I rarely can send a card I did not make myself.
I don't see anything wrong with using them for cards that you give to others. If it feels too awkward for you, maybe you could punch some shapes out of them and use them as embellishments. As others have said, as long as you don't sell them, I think it's ethical.
