Thumbs up Looking for Suggestions.....

Hi, Fellow Crafters!

Doing some LONG term planning -- at some point, (hopefully, way into the future!) I will need to move my grand accumulation (Think Hoarder! Think the size of your LSS! LOLOLOL) of crafting supplies to new, loving homes. Just a practical realization, as none of my relatives are into crafting.....hhhmmm! Paper, inks, adhesives, dies, embossing folders, all tools and machines, etc -- you get the idea! ;);)

Do you know of and can recommend any organizations that will accept and use the various supplies, tools and machines?

Appreciate any of your thoughts and suggestions!

THANKS!

Check with your local senior citizens centers. Also maybe any churches or other non-profit groups.

any local after school clubs would also jump all over it, or camps for under privileged children.

I know my local schools use the supplies for special education classes or even in-class activities for some of the younger kids. You could try there, too.

I strongly suggest your local public schools. My kids benefitted greatly from the generosity of crafters. Believe it or not the high schools love all that stuff as they usually have a mixed media class. With budget cuts affecting the arts in almost all school districts, any little donation I'm sure would be greatly appreciated. You'd be surprised at what they want or need. Thanks.

If you have a Ronald McDonald House in your area, they too would love a donation of craft supplies.

I vote for the school idea - teachers often buy supplies with their own money (which they don't get enough of for the job they do). I've also given a whack of stuff to the Boys/Girls clubs in my area, and my friend gave a ton to the Girl Scouts. We've both given things to stampers who were just starting out and had little/no money to play with...

I, too, suggest public school teachers because they end up using their own money to buy supplies when they use up their allotted budget if they even get a budget. My teacher neighbor is so happy to get paper especially. Another teacher friend uses our scrap paper from our print shop for flash cards.

Definitely Churches and Sunday School teachers! They can really use up the stash piles we accumulate!

Some schools have cut Art from budgets and any craft the students may do is funded by the teacher at their own expense. Any little bit helps. We should be encouraging our future SCS!

I just gave a big box of supplies to my SIL who then divided them between a senior citizen home and gave some to a classroom with special need children . Worked perfect for the kids because they make cards and sell as a fundraiser once a year for a field trip.
I have so much more to go but I'm glad my first batch went to "happy" places.
