I was visitng my LSS yesterday & the owner said "Did you hear the good news??" (She knows I am a 'regular'- LOL)
Her store is EXPANDING!!!!!!!! She's moving to a new location about 2 miles down the road & going to have a permanent classroom there too!!!! She said she'll have more products, etc. and will be in the new location next month!!!!!!
Ok, so what store am I talking about? RubberBuggy in Strasburg, PA.
Wow, that's great news, keep us posted. I've only ventured out to her shop once (from Philly) but she had a great inventory! I'm glad her biz is doing well!
Cool! Although I have to admit, I've lived in PA exactly a year now and I have yet to go to Rubberbuggy (hanging my head in shame...) but I will definitely have to go now! Thanks for the update!

Oh Mully - you silly girl! You must go! :-) I'll even meet ya there!!! Then we could go to the outlets.........just down the road from Rubberbuggy!
Oh yes, I know the outlets!! I actually lived in Lancaster 8 years ago but that was before I knew of the wonderful world of stamping. But if I can redeem myself, I did go to Stamp-ede last weekend for the first time and took a class too. It's harder to get to Rubberbuggy because I could only go on a Saturday since they close at 5 during the week (unless I played hooky from work that is!) Do you go to any of their classes? Would love to go sometime with you!
Oh, I'm so excited! I don't live in Lancaster, but my brother does & we are planning a visit to see him this summer! I already had a trip to RubberBuggy on my "must-do" list! TFS!

Oooooooooh lucky girl - Stampede is great too! I've only been once (it's over and hour & a half from me - Rubberbuggy is 20 minutues w/traffic) and just loved the store!
I am taking my first class this coming Saturday at RB (learning to use the distress inks) so I'll let you know how it goes. I can only make it on Saturdays too unless I take a day off work.
I am going to ask if they are thinking of hosting a monthly stamp night or stamp day - I think it would be fun to do that in their new building.
Will keep ya up to date! Yes, if you ever wanted to meet up there OR at Stampede on a Saturday let me know - my arm does NOT need to be twisted!!!

Sooooooooo excited here - I had to share!
Anne
I loved that store, we took the kids to hershey and made the trip to see her. While I was in DH took a picture of her sign outside that said rubber stamps and made it the wall paper on my cell phone LOL
I want to travel to Lancaster, PA to Amish country, I would love to live with the Amish actually for a year and long for their simple way of life. Anyways, that is cool you're getting a store. I wish we had a good scrapbooking or stamping store here, we don't and it really kind of stinks.
Monique
I live in the York area and go to Stampede whenever my budget can handle it. I love that store. I will have to see how far RubberBuggy is from me and take a trip there.
I loooooooooooooveeeeeeeeee Rubber Buggy & Kris is great! My next day off is a trip to York and Stampede & the beading/jewelry stores there --- a bank busting day!!
Kitty
Ok - so I thought I was going to bust w/excitement when I found out about the expansion of the store..................BUT I just got the Rubberbuggy newsletter and it just gets WAY BETTER!!!
Here are the awesome highlights!
*Permanent classroom w/all the amenities (also is available to rent for private stamping gatherings!)
*Everything is handicap accessible - including the bathroom
*Lounge area for patient spouses/significant others
*Once a month 'stamp til you buggy nights!! Starts at 6 p.m. until 2 a.m.!!!
* Tons of new product lines (Basic Grey, Marvy, Colorbox Q......)
Ok, I am sooooooooooo just jumpin' up & down like a little kid!!
Do tell, I do a lot of jewelry work too! I mostly buy my supplies online, but I love me a bead shop!
Jen have you been to UBead2 in Wayne? Or Beadiologie in Berwyn? There's another one in Philly, but I can't recall the name at the moment. My mother makes beaded jewelry so when she visits, we usually hit some of these stores.
Good, good news. I was there this fall, and hit it while a class was ending, wow was that place packed, I could barely move around, much less browse. I did find some yummy stuff, but will be glad for more room. Might need a road trip this summer, not too far away. Where is the Stampede store?

I am jealous that you are taking a distress ink class! That is on my to-do list! Wish I wasn't going to be away this weekend so I could go play too!
When I read your updated list of all the exciting things coming to the store, I got butterflies in my stomach! Sounds fantastic!
Have you ever been to Pages in Time in Brickerville? I haven't but a friend emailed me their newsletter and they are having a Ranger product demo on 4/28 that I wanted to check out (once again, the distress inks!) Wonder how much stamping stuff they have?

That would have been fun too meet you for the class! Next time! There are some fun ones coming up the next few months. I seriously might take a day off work to attend the Twinkling H2O's one!
I've never been to Pages In Time - but it sounds like it could be someplace to visit!!!
When Rubberbuggy gets settled into their new home, I am thinking that it might be time to organize some kind of SCS get together w/the gals in the area!!!!
Hey!!! I love shopping at Rubberbuggy too...always friendly and ready to show you the latest thing! BTW, Mullycat I am in Exeter Twp...anywhere close to that?

Yes! Yes!
Merrym - I'm over in Lower Heidelberg Twp/Sinking Spring area. We are close by!! Is that scrapbook store in Exeter near St. Lawrence still in business? I don't think they had stamp stuff. I only went once - it was a little intimidating being so small and in the basement of a medical building.
Can't wait for a get-together! And Anne, you might be on to something about taking a day off from work for the twinkling class....

OK well I have lived in PA all my life (and not so far from this place) and I have never been there! Planning a trip in the next few weeks though.
[QUOTE=merrymstamper]The little store is still there...I was there in January and bought HouseMouse from her during her sale. I drive by almost daily.QUOTE]
They have stamps? And House Mouse?? Maybe I need to go back for another visit!! Thanks!
I'm up in the Allentown area and have never been to any of these stores (with the exception of the Flower & Craft Warehouse ~ love that btw). I will definiately have to make a trip down now!
Hershey outlets has a great scrapbook store (times to remember), there is also a stamp store in Lemoyne called StampExpress(off of 83 South)...easily catch that on your way to York Stampede...
Since I'm new to stamping, I appreciate the info. on the stores around Central PA. If you all make a day out of it, please let me know because I would love to join you. Also, has anyone ever been to Adventures with Stamps in Campbelltown? I live in Palmyra and was wondering if it was worth the time...

They give kind of goofy directions on how to get there (at least from where I live) but if you know the area, maybe you will have an easier way to travel.
The distress ink class on Saturday was really fun! We learned 6 different techniques in using the inks. LOL - your fingers get very inky as you're working more with the ink for the techniques vs. stamps.
Anyway - everyone at Rubberbuggy is just ecstatic about the new location.
Glad the class was good! Did you find anything out about renting the room in their new place? Or perhaps a driving tour of Lancaster County stamp stores - like all the off the beaten path ones that only the locals know about? I'd be game for that!
I'll be in Gettysburg around teh 4th of July next year (for the BIG re-enactment). I'll have to take a day off and come visit! LOL I went to the one in Gettysburg (can't remember the name now :} and it was nice, but I didn't realize there were more in the area! When it gets closer I'll have to come and get a list of must visits from ya'll!
Just wanted to say thanks to the original poster of this - some friends and I were in Lancaster this week and we were able to stop in this store. They are not stampers but were mesmerized with all the beautiful artwork that is displayed. The owner was at a class when we were there, but the nice young lady who helped me was very friendly (wish I could remember her name). Anyway, joined the mailing list and already scoped out where the new location will be. Thanks again ~lorraine
Mully - I forgot to ask about renting the room for private parties - but I'll find out for sure! Yes, the class was totally fun! I actually signed up for the Twinkling H20's AND got in for the yard sale this summer!
Lorraine - I am so glad you enjoyed yourself! LOL - I was in Rubberbuggy this a.m. & Kris (the owner) said "Are you the girl saying all those nice things about me on Splitcoast?" - she said she's had some new people in this week & they've mentioned hearing about it on SCS.
