Question i have a question

i was wondering... if i like a card made by someone.... and make a similar one... do i have to mention tht i took tht card as my inspiration?

My thought is that if your card is recognizable as a copy, then yes. However, if you take a card and make a lot of changes, then no. However, it is always nice to err on the side of acknowledging a source of inspiration.

Personally, I always e-mail the person before posting. Even if I only stuck with the layout..... Just in case! Since there are some people who seem to get their panties in a bunch if you don't..... I don't want to be accused of "stealing" someone's idea.

I only mention if there is something reconizable about the card...for instance one girl drew a line around the head of a bird to make it look like a space-suit for a moon-themed card...I did the same thing on this card and gave her credit for her original idea.

If it's a basic layout, and you use similar colors...there is no need to mention that you saw someone else do it first...there are only so many color combos and sketches out there. LOL

If you refer back to one specific gallery card a few times while creating yours, then yeah, mention it.

Love the card you made and I too would have given credit to Michelle Zindorf for her inspiration. Her style is so unique.
