Default How do you store your embellishments?

I see posts about people's ideas for storing paper and clear stamps. I would like to know how you store your embellishments (aka brads/eyelets and ribbon)

I currently have a drawer that I store my embellishments in. I have little round tins (from Michaels, typically used for party/wedding favors) that I have my eyelets and brads sorted into colors. I want to get a magnetic board that I can place on the wall and then put little magnets on the tins and stick them on the wall so I can see everything I've got all at once.

I also like the idea of getting the SU embellishment caddy and the empty containers and use that. The only problem is I have very limited space. I don't know that it would fit.

My ribbon is stored in a purple Pull Ez like this: http://www.pageadditions.com/store/p...bon-purse.html

I'm looking for some ideas. Show me what you've got! (Pics would be great)

Well, I am new so I dont have a jillion embellishments, but I have quite a few and a small space. I bought (.99 each) plastic boxes at WM designed to hold a dozen spools of thread. I then keep brads in one box, flowers in one, misc etc by category. When I need a brad I can just open the lid and I have a dozen options and they stack nicely on the shelf.
I also use these boxes for mini stamps, which fit 4 in a section. Not fancy, but they are really nice for taking to workshops and gatherings.

I don't have a designated stampin' place (in fact, right now I'm taking a break from creating--it's all spread out in my bedroom!), so I work out of a bunch of Crop N Style totes. I use plastic divided boxes--sold in the craft area at walmart, or in the fishing tackle aisle--and they are usually cheaper there!!

I have a spot for little brads (not by color, that's not a big deal to me), googly eyes, "s" clips, buttons, etc. I have 2 more for ribbon, and a smaller one that had a longer section, then 4 smaller sections. Before I got my cropodile, my eyelets and setters fit perfectly in here. I still carry it all in there, I just use my CAD over the fiskar setters I used to use.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to store my embellishments.
I need to find something that is organized but will keep things really available. Right now, they are spread out and out of sight. I don't use them much. (I keep buying them though)

I'm thinking about getting the Clip It Up.

http://www.clipitup.com

Does anyone already use it for embellishments? I would love to see pictures.

I use a two sided clear plastic divided box that I originally bought for my son to 'garage' his matchbox/hotwheels cars. I store each type of embellishment in tiny zipper baggies and keep like colors together in a section. I can easily search for a specific color and then style and take the baggie/s I need. Snce the items are in baggies, if someone lifts the box and it isn't latched closed, only baggies fall out, not tiny embellishments - much easier to clean up! (gee, how do I know????)

All my embellies (including stickles and glitter and buttons and such) are sorted into 12x12 drawers by color--one for each color of the rainbow, two for neutrals, and two for metallics. I use 14-compartment bead boxes with locking flip lids to store brads and little metal stuff, buttons, etc. I have a box for each color in its appropriate drawer. I also use Cropper Hopper storage boxes for items like photo corners, skeleton leaves and such.

Got the idea for sorting by color from Stacy Julian's book The Big Picture. Great book and it works for me.

I have mine sorted by colour in small candy jars. They sit on a shelf in front of my colour sorted ribbon jars. The small candy jars come 4 to a set at IKEA for cheap.

The little caddies meant for bead storage are great for brads and eyelets!

Brads, eyelets, jems, beads are in a case filled with Tic Tac boxes that I buy at Wal-Mart.

Flowers and clips, ribbon slides are n metal watch maker tins on shelves on my pegboard.

I have one large multi-sectioned case for large brads, stars, etc.

All of my ribbons are wrapped on clothes pins and stood upright in snap boxes I bought from Oriential Trading.

I have one box that is all Western goodies, because I have collected way too many!

I like having everything in see through containers, easier to use what you can see.

Flowers are in jars, brads/eyelets are in the locking craft mates containers, stickles are in a lunchbox, ribbons are in a homemade bag like the pull ez purse.

I'm really liking the idea of doing it by color though. That's pretty slick!

My ribbon is stored in plastic containers I bought at Michaels. I made a carousel for brads, eyelets, etc. -- Embellishment Carousel by Clownmom at Splitcoaststampers I keep stickers, etc., in a three-drawer plastic container.

My embellishments are in stacked acrylic shoe drawers from the Container Store. My ribbon is on a shelf in zip top bags by color.

If you go to my blog you can see pictures of how I store my ribbon. I use Target containers and I cut chipboard in pieces 2 x 2 1/2 and then wrap it around. One drawer holds 150 rolls which i have 6 drawers full I think. I use to be in a ribbon club which were by 3 yards i believe some where. Michaels rolls fit perfect. I store the rest of my stuff in Target cube drawers in the scrapbook area and then for brads i store in my SU clear storage containers and I store my prima's in those also. I have a michael's 1.99 cubed jewelry cases for decorative brads and charms and such

Many of my embellishments are stored in stacking containers I found 2/$1 and 4/$1 at SaveALot. (They're roughly the size of a half sheet of paper and a quarter sheet.) They're small clear boxes, like the ziplock and other brands, but they stack & lock together, so they don't fall off the shelves. They work great for me!

I have the SU embellishment organizer on my stamping table. Before I got this, most items stayed in their containers in a little basket on the table, it just made it difficult to see everything. Most of my stamping items are attached to the pegboard on my wall. I purchased 3 papertowel holders made for pegboards and my ribbon is on that. Be aware that unless you want to go buy the right sized dowel, your SU ribbon won't fit on the papertowel holder. I had to use a reamer to make the holes bigger (didn't feel like another trip to Lowes and I already had a reamer due to a science project).

My brads and eyelets are stored together by color in baby food jars. The jars are stored on a baby food jar holder that I bought on ebay. My ribbon is stored in the Pull EZ and on the Cropper Hopper ribbon cards from Hobby Lobby.

Default nana's cookies

I went to Menard's and brought a couple of the ones guys use in there garage to keep nuts and bolts and etc., they are plastic with 3 drawers across and 6 down, then I used a label maker to mark each one (Easter, Christmas and etc.).I don't have much in room either. Husband made me a stand to hold ribbon on, it is a circle of wood with dowel rods of different sizes it can hold many spools at one time, for smaller amt. of ribbon I wrap them on a cardboard tube and then the tube can go on one of the dowels.I can take the whole thing were I work and it only takes up maybe 6 to 8 inches of space on my table.

I dont like everything super duper sorted , so I had (HAD because someone stole it at work!!!! ) my embellies in a MiMi embellishment tote.

It has 4 zipper pouches, and mine were sorted as such: Stuff that goes IN the paper (anything that poked through the paper), stuff that goes ON the paper, stuff I wanna keep in the pkg, and gems/plastic.

Now I am embellishment-less. :(

All my brads and eyelets are sorted into little acrylic sorting boxes i got at walmart in the bead aisle of the craft section. Other embellies are stored in magnetic tins i got at ACM that have clear lids that are stuck on a metal magazine holder i found at a dollar store and painted to match my room. In there are alterable gift bags (plain silver ones) with some tissue. I also make good use of my pegboard for different things that i use a lot of. I'm reorganizing and hoping to get some pix up soon. I did searches of the gallery of stamping spaces for inspiration...there's a ton of it there...

I have any non-SU brads and gems in 2x3 zipper bags that I punched a hole in. These are on several large notebook rings, one for circle shaped embellishments, another has shaped embellishements, a third is for eyelets I love being able to see what I have and in what colors with just a quick look. I do keep my SU embellishments together in two drawers of my converted cd storage unit. Looks like an old time library catalog and is meant to store cds. I use it for all my "stuff".

I travel to crops a lot, so it's important that mine are portable. Therefore, mine are in a tackle box. Yup, an actual tackle box complete with a Bass Pro Shops patch on the side. It was very reasonable in price compared to totes made for scrapbooking. There are 4 plastic trays on the inside with moveable dividers. There are nice sized pockets on the front and sides. The handle is very comfy and it travels well.

I store my embellies in bead container (look like tiny tic-tac containers in a large plastic organizer). Anything that doesn't fit goes into an SU clamshell case and in my cabinet, which is a wooden DVD cabinet. I love this system.

Ooooo! I have the Craft Mates notebook style too! I love, love, love that thing! I have two of them and I got a couple of the larger size locking organizers for larger stuff.
Mine kind of look like this:

except they have space for organizers on both sides ... plus they're purple!

My hubby came up with an awesome system for my small embellishments. I have a magnetic whiteboard hung on my closet door. I bought some small plastic jars with screw-on lids at JoAnn and glued magnets to the bottom of each jar. I put my brads and other small embellishments in the jars and stick them to the board. It makes the easily accessible and I love my system. **

My larger embellishments are kept in a few plastic divided containers and keep them in my closet.

Here is a picture of my magnetic wall storage:
