Question How do you store individual wood stamps

Currently I'm storing them in pizza boxes, but they are taking up a lot of room. Thinking of switching them to the plastic shoe boxes from the dollar store. Do not want to unmount them, but it may come to that before it is over with. Anyone else have any ideas. I love stampin up, but I also love my individual wooden stamps even those that only cost 1.00.

I use shallow plastic boxes from Really Useful Boxes. They are stackable, and I can fit two layers of stamps in each tray. Some are one brand only, like Penny Black, Hero Arts, and one is Christmas. Penny Black is full and overflowing into Stampendous at this stage, LOL.

I use the Stampendous Thicker cases. They are cheap and they are awesome! They are stackable to. I ise the thin ones for my clear stamps and the thick ones for my unmounted rubber on cling foam.

I use those cabinet bins with the deep pull out plastic drawers, from the office supply store, each drawer is a different category. They also work well with my clear stamps, I file them like in a file cabinet.

I use the 12 x 12 plastic Iris cases that are sold for scrapbooking paper.

There are two disadvantages: first when they're full they are very heavy and secondly, it's hard to find what you're looking for when they are piled on top of each other.

At some point I'd like to unmount them and use EZ mount to store in binders with all my other unmounted stamps.

In those big ol' jars from Hobby Lobby. When I'm looking for something, it's kinda fun to dump them all out on the floor because I usually forget what's in there. I have about 5 jars full.

I use the largest size clam shell boxes from SU. I have so many stamps from other places. They fit very nicely in these boxes and I can categorize them and label the end of the box. Perfect for me.

I use the clear plastic shoeboxes from the Dollar Store. I "sort of" have them arranged by category. I don't label them, just rely on seeing through the box and my fading memory.

The clear plastic boxes that SU stamps come in are handy for storage. I actually purchased some of the extra large ones and try to group the images by categories and then store the boxes upright inside a large storage box, two rows of them -- a file cabinet effect.

I have also purchased empty SU clamshell boxes and I put loose stamps in them by category.

I have some in a plastic 12 x 12 storage unit drawer. They come in 3-drawer units and are 6 CD cases high - so 2-3 inches high. I keep my unmounted stamps and DP in these. (And my A Muse stamps, and if I don't find a way to make decent A Muse cards, they're going to get packed up in a box somewhere so I don't feel so pathetic about them, LOL!!) Anyway, these 3-drawer units will handle the weight easily and can be found at WalMart or Target for around $10.

I also have some single drawers that stack that are made by Little Tikes. In one of these, I have House Mouse and miscellaneous wood-mounted stamps stored in SU clamshell cases. The drawer is deep enough to store the cases upright on the long side - the drawers are probably 18" x 14" x 9". Close anyway.

Hope you find the solution that works for your situation!!

I store mine in those clear acrylic picture frames, I think they are called box frames. You can get them in different sizes and they stack really well.

Same here and I like this storage method. I also have some in the roling carts with plastic drawers but i prefer the box picture frames because stamps are only one layer deep and I can see everything in the box without digging underneath.

I have a great little drawer stand from Ikea. It has wide and deep drawers, but the drawers themselves are very shallow. You can see all your stamps at once, and still have lots of drawers. It also has a nice big top so that's where I keep my Scor-It and guillotine cutter. Sorry I can't remember the name of it and I can't find it on the Ikea website (that page is out of service). The unit has 7 drawers and is white. I love it!

I found plastic storage boxes called bacon keepers at Walmart for $2.49. These work well and hold alot. I also use those old plastic video boxes. We had a bunch of videos at work that were old or no good anymore and my boss let me have them. I also use the Stampin Up boxes that are now empty because I have unmounted a lot of my stamps. I am not having good luck unmounting the dollar stamps, though.

I use the clear Stampin' UP! boxes for some random stamps, but I use Glad brand lunchmeat containers (washed! ) for tiny letter stamps, and everything else is thrown in a big wooden basket (shallow and long, so it sits on a bookshelf). This works for me because those are the stamps my DD can get into without me worrying about what they'll come back looking like! lol

I use a plastic (disposable style) rubbermaid container for mine. It works great. It's a decent size without being too big (approx. 8x10x2) and way affordable as well. I think I only paid around $2.50 for it at Wal-Mart.

I work for a food distribution company, so we get lots of containers. The ones I get are plastic chocolate boxes with clear lids. They're about 24" x 18" and I can put one layer of wood stamps in them. I have them stacked in my book cases. I also have some in shoe boxes. Once I finish indexing and putting all my clear stamps into binders, then I'm going to unmount all my wood stamps. They're so cumbersome I rarely use them - but I keep buying them!
