Default Holepunching through ribbon?

Is there such a thing. If you wanted to put a ribbon under your eyelet? I've tried and it looks horrible. If so, how do you do this, with a cutter bee scissor instead of a hole punch?

Hi there!

I do it all the time, in fact I have at least three examples in my Gallery. I just use the anywhere hole punch after I have secured the ribbon to the spot where I want it. Then I set the eyelet or snap into the ribbon and the paper.

As with many things, practice makes perfect.

I do it all the time. I like to attach the bow after I adhere a strip of ribbon to the card rather than tying it on the card. I use the hole punch, thread a length of ribbon through the card from the back, put a narrow strip of CS into the loop on the back of the CS, pull it snug, and tie a bow upside down.

I'm lost... :( and it's probably very simple....

I've punched holes through ribbon before, like someone said, practice makes perfect.. I have better luck if I adhere the ribbon first and I think the grosgrain ribbon is easier to punch than the organza, but maybe that is just me

LOL!! it is very simple, but, if you're like me, you actually have to do it to "get" it!

Even if you don't attach the ribbon first, it is still easier to punch if you have a piece of card stock behind it to give it some stability.

I use either the Fiskar's hole punches or the anywhere hole punch. Depends on where I am putting it.

sad to say, i tried punching the ribbon using cardstock as a background and was still not getting a *clean* hole plus the ribbon sort of pulled where i made the hole. guess i will continue experimenting. maybe just poking a large needle through??? anyone? of course, it would help if i were not such a perfectionist - after all, ribbon is not cardstock. waaaaaaaaaaah

I seem to have better luck setting eyelets and brads through ribbon if I just cut a slit in the ribbon with my craft knife.
