Went to my first Hobby Lobby store on Saturday in Bismarck, ND, and it was like the mothership calling me home. I take back everything I ever said about California having all the best of everything -- I would gladly trade the 20 Michaels around here for one Hobby Lobby!

I've only seen pictures, but I think I'd react the same way! I'm in So-Cal and I'm so bummed we don't have Hobby Lobby or Archivers, or places like that.
Maybe they'll get one out here soon? Wishful thinking...
Glad you had the chance to experience it firsthand!
We have a HL and Michael in my home town. I can travel 4 hours north the visit Archivers. But, I am all broken up about loosing the A.C. Moore that was 1 and 1/2 hours west of my home town. It's not far I tell you. Booooo Hoooo

I have a Michaels, a large JoAnns, a Hobby Lobby, and an Archiever's all within 20 minutes of me. So if any of you are thinking of moving to an area with great scrapbooking/card making supplies, come my way! It's Indianapolis! My husband teases me that all those stores are here because of me- like my shopping alone could keep them going!
Maybe I should have a SCS girls weekend here and we could just visit stores!
Oh the down side, I do not think we have an A.C. Moore.

I wish we'd get anyone of those big names here. *sigh* Last time, we went to California, we spent 2 hours at Joann's. My hubby was so bored that he literally walked around the whole store, came back to find me and I was still only in the second aisle!!! He was like, "you're only here?" On the other hand, I was just like him when we went to Fry's. lol...I guess that was his revenge!
All I can say is thank goodnes for the internet! The nearest craft store for me is 3 hours away ... of course all shopping is 3 hours away unless you count WalMart (LOL)!!! DH cringes when my BFF and I take off for the day to San Antonio (we usually leave about 6am and get back at midnight)!

Californian's...do not give up hope. Just within the last couple of years they have begun to open HL's in Arizona...I can't believe you would be far behind. Thankfully they just opened one about 2 miles from my house in June and opening another about 10 miles away end of December. I would email their customer service and ask...it couldn't hurt! Me loves my Hobby Lobby!
Columbus, OH. is a great area, too! In Dublin alone we have JoAnns, Michaels AND Hobby Lobby within a couple of blocks. And I just have to drive about 20 minutes to Easton for Archivers (where there's also a Cheesecake Factory, so that's no hardship!).
But we don't have an AC Moore... :(

You crafters in the East Valley get everything.;-) I have to travel half an hour to get to a HL, and take 4 semi-bored kids, but it's fun to look around.

ROTFL... I know exactly what you mean! I am SO glad there isn't one except a 45 minute drive west or south from here...I would be even broker than I am already.
Their clearance aisles are to die for. Excellent prices and dirt cheap damaged home decor stype stuff that you can usually fix or work around.

I second the internet. The closest to me is about an hour and we can't get away from home early enough for me to get to JoAnn, HL and M so I usually have to pick only one when we go, which isn't that often.
I wish we had any craft store near me. Let's see, the nearest JoAnn's is 2 1/2 hrs, the nearest Michaels and Archivers (which I've never been to) is 4 hrs away, and I don't think there are any Hobby Lobbies anywhere close. Even Walmart is 1 1/2 hrs away. lol Most of my shopping has to be done online.
When we lived in fl no hobby lobby boo hoo. Michaels was an hour away. Joann was 30 min away but it was really really small.
Now we moved back to TX. YEAH. Only 23 miles from Hobby Lobby and Michaels is about 1/2 mile beyond that. Don't shop much at Mike's though. I only go there to use my 40% off coupons. I have been using them on martha stewart punches. Hobby lobby on the other hand receives lots and lots of my crafting dollars. Dh would probably have fits.
Also like supporting hobby lobby because they are closed on Sunday. I appreciate the fact that they took a stand and am willing to spend more there.
I LOVE Hobby Lobby so many things to alter there. Greatest selection of glassware I have ever seen. The store is about 25 minutes from my house and one day I went twice. Swear you will not tell my DH. Michaels is right across the street but I do not go there, I hate that store for some reason.

I guess I never realized how lucky I am to have so many stores nearby. We have a large JoAnn's, the new Michael's, a regular Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Archivers. All within 20 minutes drive. And I spend a lot of $$$ at all of them plus the internet.
