I know all of you are fabulous stampers and wonderful ladies. I have been a demonstrator for about 3 years and am no longer a demonstrator with Stampin' Up! But now I have a problem... I need to get rid of a very large amount of stuff! I am getting rid of almost everything. (I have a whole room full of papers accessories stamps inks....etc.) What is the best way to do this with the least amount of hassle. I was seriously considering a raffle, but they are not legal for private citizens in NY state. I would like to get as much as possible for the stuff because my husband is coming home from Kuwait in November and I would like to be able to have a vacation with him and the kids before he has to go back to work. So I am putting this out there for you extremely creative women. If anyone has any good ideas, please let me know.
Ebay? I've never sold there but I have bought some things. At the very least, you need to search SU items on there. Most things actually sell for more than the book value! You could sell each thing individually or put it into sets. I have seen people who have sold a group of things as one...like several sets of stamps with a few ink pads, paper etc. and they'll go for hundreds of dollars. Watch a few sales on there for yourself. You can search for Stampin Up (and check different spellings) in general or by stamp set.
Who knows, if you decide to sell, maybe I'll be a bidder!
Also, this website has a buy/sell/trade forum. Try there too!
Do you have a local store that might offer consignment sales? I've had luck with those and e-bay is good too if you've got retired or hard to find sets, I sold all my old foam sets there and got alot for them.

I say ebay, too. Big "lots" of SU! items sell very well. You could put it all in 2 or 3 "lots" and then you wouldnt have to package that many different boxes to send out and you would get a lump of money instead of bits here and there.
Of the items I have sold on ebay the ones that did the best were the "lots" or groups of items all together.
What about a craft sale out of your garage. Like a yard sale but just craft items. You could contact your old customers and see if there is anything they would like to buy. You could also contact other demos in your area and see if anything you have may interest them. You could also offer things for sale on both Stampin' Discuss or I believe there is a place here on splitcoasters somewhere. HTH.
Ebay is a good way to go, I would also suggest offering your discontinued items here on SCS on the B/S/T forum. Give yourself a deadline, and if it doesn't sell here, put them on Ebay. I guess I'd just like to see the ladies here get a fair chance at your discontinued sets. Just my thoughts.

How far west in NYS? I'm off next week and up for a ROAD TRIP!!!!
I would love to list them here, but it is a lot of work and you ladies are fast and furious! Maybe I will with the stipulation that you have to buy at least two sets one you really want and one to give as a gift.... that way I can get rid of all of them here and not have to deal with ebay fees... Can I give preference to those who want to buy more? That's not really fair, but I don't want to package all of this up...I have over 70 sets of stamps and all of the ink pads and a bunch of 12x12 paper....ribbon, eyelets, brads, etc..... lol. I am trying to boost myself up for the undertaking I guess!
Thanks for all your help. A craft sale out where I live is just not possible... I live in the middle of nowwhere..... lol
Selling on Ebay is actually pretty easy, and the fees are pretty minimal, imo. I'm a fairly new demo, and most of my sets were retired when I started demoing, so I split them up into 'lots' of 6 sets each, and was amazed at what they went for. I think if you put them into 'lots' with four or five sets, plus some paper and inks and things, you'd make a killing.
I can understand though, if you really don't want to do the Ebay thing......it took me forever to actually sell something on there. I know a woman near me that quit demonstrating, and placed an ad in the paper about the stuff she had, and my mom called her, went to look at her stuff, and bought it all, every last bit! So that's another thought. Good Luck!! Hope you make a fortune!
I am actually looking for a retired set, and can't seem to find it. It's called UP ON THE HOUSETOP. Would you happen to have it? I will purchase it from you, and pay for the S&H as well. Thanks! Karen

Ditto on this. Went to one this summer and stocked up. Everything was 40-50% off retail. It started at 10, I got there at 10, and when I left around 10:30 (I set a time limit for me), it was PACKED. I bet they sold most if not all of their goodies. They sold each stamp set, pad, ribbon, etc... separately and packed the paper in packs for X amount each. Everything had a price on it that was just a dollar amount (i.e. $5, $10, etc...), so it made checking out much easier.
wow, just saw your pictures-your scrapbooking as awesome! Also, I really hope that you get to see you DH soon! Tell him that he and the other brave soldiers that serve our country are in our thoughts and prayers.
I wish you luck with selling your items.
A quick reminder that we do not allow links to other websites for sales and do not allow raffles or "Best Offer" type posts.
If you wish to sell your items please make a list of your retired items with prices and list them in the sale area of our BST area.
If you have current otems (including accessories) they may not be sold/raffled here at all.
Hope that helps clarify a bit!

This is probably too late for 3KidsCrazy, but I've seen "Mystery Boxes" of craft items go on eBay for lots of cash. Filling a box with SU items should be more than enough to garner attention from bidders, but you could 'sweeten the pot' a little by investing another $30-50 in some name-brand items (Heidi Swapp, BG, etc) so you can list all the vendors you have items from in your box.
Looking for 2 sets older Frost a cookie and Love Bakes, have them??? Would be more than willing to more than cover postage too, [email protected] thanks!!!!
You may want to Private Message 3KidsCrazy rather than put a public post, or start an "I Seek Out" thread in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum to see if anyone has it up for offer. No one comes to General Stamping Talk to try to sell or trade stamp sets, so I think your success will be better if you PM or go to BST.

she has a post in the BST forum where she lists her sets for sale. That way you will know what she has. You can also post an ISO of the sets you are seeking in that forum.
