Has anyone used the new SU Hand Knit set to make labels to sew on their knitted items? I'd like to make them for my knitting group (the Knit Wits) for Christmas, and other than knowing I need to use craft ink I'm not sure where to start. What kind of fabric would I put it on and how do I finish the edges? Let's see photos of your accomplishments, Ladies! Thank you.

I'm a knitter and I too have considered this. My plan is to make something like these:
Thanks for starting this thread! My daughter-in-law is a (wonderful) knitter, and I've been hoping to use this fun stamp set to make her some labels and/or cards. The problem is that I have no idea of how to go about doing the labels, so I appreciate these suggestions!
You would need to use a permanent/washable ink - like the fabrico ones - you could stamp them on muslin and run it through the big shot using a nestie die to make a shape - and you could use the double sided iron on adhesive - (where you iron it on one side - leaving the paper on the other so when the person wants to use it the peel it off and iron on) if you are going to use on knitted items I would not use any iron one adhesive - just stamp on the fabric or twill tape and sew into garment or to knitted item

Really great point, Margaret. Most knitted items have labels sewn in or a tag tied on for easy removal. And I've seen some great wide twill tapes on Etsy that would accommodate the label stamp.
You know, the trend now is toward comfort, and lots of manufacturers, especially knitted items, are going to "label-less" items, with no labels being sewn in garments.
Most of the pricey hand knit items I've seen in specialty stores have "hang tags" that are attached with a tiny safety pin for removal before you wear the item.
I haven't seen the set you're talking about, but would it make nice hang tags?

I tried craft ink on twill tape. It looks alright BUT I applied fabric medium ontop and it ran and is really ugly.
Now I bought a Fashion Fabric Marker by Marvy from Michaels Craft and tried it out on a black spider stamp on twill tonight. It did alright. I'm going to wash them a little later and will post my results.
