I have never purchased a grab bag before and I am wondering if folks have been pleased or disappointed with getting one. So I thought I would do a poll to see if its worth the money.

I have purchased grab bags where I have gotten tons of stuff I would use and am very happy with them and I have also purchased some where I will use almost nothing. It is definitely a hit and miss situation. If it is a company you have a lot of stuff from already, I would probably say pass just because you have a higher chance of getting duplicates.
I have only ever purchased ONE grab bag, and that when Angi B & Company were closing. I looked through her website multiple times and determined that I liked MOST of the stamps she offered. I was very happy with my grab bag, but became even more supremely happy with it AFTER I found an "opposite stamper" - someone who liked all the stamps that I did NOT like and who did NOT like the stamps I DID like. She had bought a grab bag too, and we mailed each other the stamps so I ended up loving ALL the stamps I got.
I have always had great success with grab bags. The key for me has always been to check out their catalogs first, as SophieLaFontaine mentioned. You should be able to get an idea of their style, enough to know whether your chances were good with a grab bag.
LOL, I learned this trick a long time ago when it comes to museums, of all things. A quick trip through the gift shop gives me an overview of what's on display in the museum. You can save a lot of admission money that way, lol!
I've only bought one, and that was from Rubber Romance. I ended up with at least 3 I had planned on buying, a few more I didn't know I wanted but I liked, a few that I would have never bought but might come in handy, and a few (cats!) that I gave to my cat-loving stamping friend. It was a great deal for the price.
I have mixed emotions about grab bags. I really loved the grab bag I received last spring from Inky Antics. Lots of fun animals, snowmen and sayings.
Wasn't too crazy about the ones from My Sentiments Exactly. In my bag was a lot of poems and sayings that I have absolutely no use for and a large amount of religious sayings which only apply in limited special situations. (I can understand why those types of poems & sayings were poor sellers for MSE.) Don't think I will order any more grab bags as I gave the majority of the MSE stamps away.
