Where do you all buy your pretty 3D flowers?
I see so many different styles of pretty 3D flowers on people's cards and I wonder where do you get them - especially things different that little roses and classical flowers like Prima has.
Any good online store? Or do you make them yourselves?
I make all of my own. I use to buy them but the prices are ridiculous in my opinion and they aren't getting any cheaper. I am actually a bit addicted to making them. I bought Donitty bitty blossom die on clearance at HL and I was hooked even more than before. I bought a few other dies as well as, I have the Flower shoppe cart for the cricut. I also hand spiral cut 6 in circles for cute lollypop type flowers. It takes minutes to make a beautiful flower. I could go on and on..... I love making them.
My sister told me that I need to set up an Etsy account and sell them as I love making them EVERYDAY.
Lydia, I would love to see your bouquet. I'm have been helping a friend at work with trying to find the right paper flowers for her daughter's wedding. I've been hand making flowers showing them to her telling her how long each type took etc.
Before I started making them, I would buy prima's and spare parts at HL. I would use a 40% coup but just realized that I could have more fun making it all from scratch so to speak. I love saying I made it all.
thanks ladies - also check out Wild Orchid Crafts - I bought some paper roses from them couple years ago and now they have all kids of other flowers too - tulips, daisies, lilies, magnolias - and the shipping is not too bad either
I buy silk flowers, especially white when they are on clearance cut them off the stems and place in glass jars in my window sill. If you buy a sprig of flowers on clearance for a dollar or less and each sprig has a bunch of flowers on it them you have gotten each one super cheap. the white ones can then be colored to match your card. I use rhinestones or brads for centers after glueing them onto my card.
I envie those that make paper flowers but it's just not my thing - too tedious and time consuming. Gives me the shivers just thinking about doing it, lol. Funny thing is I can spend hours/days creating a scene with stamps but flowers.... no way. Really strange how one person's passion is another's nightmare. I sure do enjoy looking at flowers others have made though.
I bought major haul from IAMROSES almost a year ago and still have almost all of them. I can't make my own because I don't enjoy it, but I bought them in all white and I love painting them and customizing them to match my cards.
