How did you manage that?! you have more will power than me, I went crazy last month at the convention.
Has anyone made a rosette with distressed edges? I'm thinking they would be really cool?

Have seen this tool @ Michaels and sometimes they do have his products on sale, if not use a Michaels coupon

Did you know that the distressers are really thread cutters originally used for sewing? I bought mine at JoAnn's in the sewing section for about $3 and it looks just like Tim's without the name. So if you can't find his and want to save a few bucks, check out a fabric store or the sewing section.

The one I use is from the Stampin' Up! Cutter Kit (10695 . I sell quite a few of these, as they are so much safer than a scissors. Trust me, I've sliced my fingers too many times. The kit has a cutter, perf. tool and a scoring blade as well. The nice thing is that the tools are ergonomically designed and are super easy to use.

i would have thought for a weathered wood look you were more likely to need the 'other' distressing tool!

I have the Heidi Swapp PAC-man one and it works great! I also have a heart shaped one by WRMK which also incorporates a ring shaped handle (as in wedding ring) which is pretty good but unnecessary and also has a sanding surface which is replaceable. I like it vey well except the sandpaper tends to fall off. I wish the adhesive was stronger. Shame. I am going to write the manufacturer. It does stay put during use though so I'm happy with it in that way.

I tried scissors and managed to make a big slice in my paper  , so I won't use them anymore. I have the CTMH one and I like it. It sells in Canada for $2.50, probably less in the US.

I use the distrezz-it-all to distress edges. I have pain in my hands sometimes and it can hurt to hang on to one of those little tools and rub and rub. The distrezz-it-all is electric so it's fast and easy on my hands, but it is pretty noisy!
Here's a link to a pic and video if anybody's interested:

Hi Sabrina! Try tying a pretty ribbon on the end of it. That's what I do so I can find it easier!

I've been considering getting one of those to distress the edges of chipboard coaster albums...do you think it'd work nicely?
Right now I'm actually using a sandpaper attachment on my Dremel tool to go over the edges of those.

"Every heard of a distressing tool?"
I opened my dictionary and this is what I found:
Distressing Tool: Any type of crafting implement (including die, punch, ink pad, trimmer) that causes Melissa distress because she cannot buy it.

distrezz-it-all on chipboard

I just saw your question. Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of chipboard to experiment with. I tried using it on a chipboard letter from Queen and Co. and it worked okay, not great. It was difficult to make any judgement really because it was a small O and difficult to hang onto. It also seemed sort of soft. Then I tried it on a Basic Grey chipboard sticker. I thought it might be a bad idea because of the adhesive, but it actually did a nice job.
So, maybe it works better on a larger piece of chipboard that you can hang onto and manipulate better, and also if it's not a soft chipboard.
Sorry I can't give any better advice.... I don't remember if the online demo showed the tool being used on chipboard or not.

Thanks! I might just order one up and if it doesn't work I can find another use for it, I'm sure

Just saw this thread- I looked at loads of distressing tools, then had a light-bulb moment. In a drawer I had a battery operated manicure kit- its a brilliant distressing tool! Its got push-on ends for filing, sanding etc, as well as a couple of rougher pieces for hard skin. as its only been used a couple of times for doing my nails(!), I'm finally getting my moneys worth, lol.
