Default Easter Favors

Hello

While friends call me the "favor queen"...I am out of ideas! I need to make a small "favor" to take to Easter dinner. Some of the kids have peanut allergies so I will need to do either two separate things or one that is "peanut safe".

Last year I did York P. Mint Patties that were a huge hit but I want to do something different this year

Any ideas???

THANKS!

Just a quick thought - how about those sour cream containers* filled with M&M's or other small candies? What did you do with the York PP's?

*off to find a photo of the sour cream containers in case you aren't familiar with them.

I have never tried the SC containers...may have to attempt one of these

As for the P.Mint patties...I just did the ones with the scallop punch! I used the scallop punch for front and back with a layered smaller circle and the smallest circle was stamped. LOVE the P. Mint patties!

Thanks for the post

Those sour cream containers are super simple to make. I'm glad someone brought this up I had almost forgot that I was going to make those for easter treats for the kids. Here's a link to one that looks like a bunny: Kid's Class S4b by amc2911 at Splitcoaststampers
That's the one that I'm going to make

I just posted yesterday a bunch of vintage easter postcards on my site Clearly Vintage. You could probably use them in a quick Easter favor.

I didn't have time yet to upload these into my gallery just yet, but here is a picture of the Easter treats that I made for my son's preschool class. I made the boxes a little big smaller then the ones shown in the tutorial. I filled the boxes with Easter grass and some candy. The tutorial can be found here:

Gable Box Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers

I also made the baskets for my son's preschool teachers. Now, these were a lot of work and I know that you are looking for something easy, but I thought I would share this with you anyway. Here's the tutorial for the woven baskets:

Someone on this site made baskets with just two strips of paper and some ribbon.

They used the following.

11 by 1 1/2" strip of paper Mark plain side A and B at top and bottom.
8 1/2 by 1 1/2" strip of paper. Mark plain sides C and D at top and bottom.

Now on the 8 1/2" strip find the centre mark it M and draw a Cross that is 1 1/2 by 1 1/2" with the M in the centre. Add glue or tape over the Cross.

You now place the A and B marked strip onto this and it will form a loop, that sticks up into the air.

Take the end marked C and fold it in half so it almost touches this loop.
Do the same the other side.
Take the end marked D and fold it in half so it almost touches the loop once more, these are you basket sides.

Add a thin line of tape or glue at C and D ends. Fold Down and Glue.

DO NOT ADD GLUE TO THE MIDDLE OF THE FOLD AS YOU NEED THIS SECTION AS YOU THREAD RIBBON THROUGH THIS TO MAKE THE BOX.

Once this is dry you add ribbon through the gap where there is no glue, go round the outside of the loop handle through the gap on the other side.

Now take the two ends of ribbon pull tighter and knot, you will see it makes a box with ribbon holding the box together.

Here's a basket I made using the Envelopes Die. It goes together super easy! You can fill it with whatever you want.

It would be too late this time, but something to think about for the future. Avon carries great lip balm and small lotion bottles. They are usually $.99 but often go on sale for even less. I have done the SU scallop on those with some ribbon and they've turned out really, really cute. I have done it for the extra teachers/secretaries at school and they all loved them. We have a large school and I don't want to spend a fortune for gifts, but they're great "thinking of you" gifts. They come in all sorts of fun designs depending on the season. They also have emery boards, fun shaped soaps, etc. And no, I'm not an Avon lady...hehe.

ok, I took the super easy way out. Clear envelope, decorated the front with two layers of cardstock and my SU! Faith & Hope set, lamb & bunny stamp and attached this to the clear envelope with red-lined tape. Made a two layer tag out of matching DP using my large/small tag punch that said Happy Easter with a decorative piece of ribbon, loaded it with candies...you're choice and of course a lottery ticket for the adult bags, sealed the envelope and I was done. Made lots of these in very little time.

just an idea...if I have a chance and charge my camera, I'll load a picture in my gallery...my scanner died this past weekend. :(
