From what I've seen and read here it's ONLY former or just retired InColors that make comebacks and then only once? Any others they bring into the core colors are brand new like Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Smoky Slate, etc.
I hope that Mossy Meadow will replace the old Always Artichoke, but I'm only guessing. They need a proper pink again too, Blushing Bride is dirty looking to me (and my demo) and too dark for certain skin tones and Pink Pirouette is too light. Will be interesting to see the next color revamp. I wish they would go back to 12 colors in each family too. I can never have too many colors!
No I do not because they discontinue as fast as you fall for them. Many of my all time favorites disappeared such as going gray, a favorite for grounding your image. I just learned to shop elsewhere. Sorry, SU. They have a good thing going but changes in formulation make your new reinkers not compatible with your old colors. that you love.
When I bought a few reinkers in the formulation of ink, I was pretty cheesed. I happened to find a new pack of Ranger Blending Foam Pads! Eureka! I thought, this has to be the same kind of foam that is in the new ink pads. So I tested it out.
I had recently stopped by The Container Store and purchased a dozen of these small (really small) "Really Useful Box", it measures 2-1/2" x 2" x 1" (inside).
I attached one of the foam pads to the inside of the box lid. I then put about 5-6 drops of reinker.
After I spread it into the pad with an old gift card, I took a stamp and pounced the ink onto the stamp and stamped it! It was awesome! Worked great. I stored it back into its box, pulled the handle catches over it and saved it. I have a few old colors in those little boxes and I use them. The old canvas pads are gone now, when they finally dried out, I tossed them into the recycling bin.
As they say, "If there is a will, there's a way"!

I always buy the in-colors! I too love the pastels and not so much the darker colors. The colors for the past year were fabulous; the year before I bought but hardly ever used. I love Bermuda Bay, Cool Cabana, and Pool Party! I have had to reorder Baked Brown Sugar. It's fantastic! So versatile!

Soft Sky was several years ago. They need a nice purple too. Elegant Eggplant borders on purple but not quite there.
No, I don't buy the in-colors. I would like Pool Party.
Yes, I do use my inks after they retire. I am not a demo.
Favorites- That's a tough question. When I wanted to buy a whole set of stamp inks I researched for months and SU won because I liked all the colors. That's the main reason I bought them. I tend to reach for the greens the most. I guess I like the greens.
I only own the ink pads, markers & reinkers. I only have one pack of SU paper in Whisper White.
1. Yes I buy the entire in color line: pads, CS, markers, refills, and sometimes ribbon.
2. Use it after it is retired? yes!
3. My favorites were Baja Breeze, and Midnight Muse. I have 3 pks of both!
My other favorite colors, not in colors, that were retired were Not Quite Navy and Sage Shaddow. Really miss them but have extra packs of the CS. I am definitely a hoarder!
I don't know why they did away with all the greens! And like you said have all of these oranges! Give me the teals and blues!
I don't buy them very often but I did LOVE Midnight Muse last year but my all time favorites were the first ones ( I am an original Regals gal) True Thyme, Cranberry Crisp have been my all time most fav's.
1. Do you buy the in-colors? Yes, I buy the paper and markers and if I like the color I'll buy a refill and make a spot. I prefer to buy empty ink spots instead of making my own.
I have also bought the $1 white or pale color ink spots at Michaels and wash them out and then reink them. If the pad falls off the cube during the washing, I just glue it back down. I LOVE the color, then I'll buy a full pad.
2. Do you use them once they retire? Yes, I'm a demo but I keep colors I like for my personal use. If I don't like the color, I sell it right after it retires. I no longer keep anything I don't/won't use.
3. What have been your favorites? lately, it's soft sky ink.
1. Do you buy the in-colors? Not usually. Once in a while I'll buy cardstock I like after I see the colors in person at a friend's house. I almost always find I have an ink pad that's close enough.
2. Do you use them once they retire? If I have them, I use them.
3. What have been your favorites? I like strawberry slush. I liked Crushed Concord. And my mom still has Buckaroo Blue - I like that.

Brilliant idea in regard to buying studio G ink spots. I'll be doing this for sure! Thanks!

1. Do you buy them? Yes, because my OCD kicks in and my collection must be complete.
2. Do you use them once retired? Yes.
3. What have been your favorites? Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade.
This year, I'm going to try with all of my might not to buy the new in colors. I am so sick of perfectly good colors retiring. I am sick of the mini and major revamps they do to their core colors ever few years. I have so much paper because I keep buying the new. I just want a reliable set of colors that I know will stick around for years to come.

Good thing I wasn't drinking anything when I read this!!!!!
You and I must be twins separated at birth...I just didn't come out and admit this!
Same here Sue and Diane! I will order them on the first date they become available! Even though 1) I hate the new foam pads and 2) I did get stung with that atrocious Summer Starfruit!

Oh, interesting! It's fun reading everyone's different option on IC! I thought I was the only one who is not in love with the foam pads!
Mostly I feel my linen pads are just fine. I wouldn't ever replace them. Partly I'm too practical. I spent good $$$ on them.
Starfruit was interesting to me. I liked pops of it in decor and clothes. I liked it in dsp. On it's own as paper, not so much. I have a pillow on my bed with what I think is SF in it, and I'm buying a pillow from Target that's all one color....Starfruit!
Thanks everyone for making this an interesting thread!

Brilliant! If I didn't have a squillion perfectly good, perfectly empty little boxes, I probably wouldn't have made my own spots, either. I figure I saved quite a bit of $$ using what I had on hand, though, so that was my motivator. If/when I run out of boxes I'll be following your excellent advice, for sure!
I tend not to use them once they retire. Wish I would. No!
I've been lucky that some of my favorites have been reinstated. Yay!
My faves have been Cool Caribbean, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Coastal Cabana, Peach Parfait, Bermuda Bay, (was that an in-color?), and maybe my all time favorite-Blackberry Bliss.
As you can see I drift toward pastels. I also love brights!

I always buy a few. Soft Sublets

I couldn't agree more about wanting a reliable set of colors that I know will stick around for years to come. I also wish they would quit revamping the core.
I don't mind the in-colors and I do purchase them most years and I do continue to use them after retirement. For me it's all about my personal preference. However, with my OCD I have to make sure that I buy the ink pads, re-inkers and any matching ribbon and embellishments.
I am a wing it kind of girl. I go with the flow. With so many comments about OCD- having to have all the colors, ribbon and embellishments, I am happy I have a small stash.
