I saw a really clever by Jan Darrah in the gallery: HERE
I love her card! Jan used a really neat stamp of a hand by Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers, which I'd never heard of. I looked it up & found a place that sells their stamps. Some, in fact most, are really neat stamps. They have a lot of antique looking stamps. They have some UM sets, too, with lots of images.
However, some really creeped me out. They have a LOT of skeletons, which isn't my thing, but some people like. BUT, they also have coffins & death certificate stamps, and similar items. Here's a link to the first page of stamps & you can go to the other pages from there: Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers stamps
Am I the only one who finds some of these really creepy?

Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers Stamps have been around for a long time!
Their stamps are cool... some of them I like and other don't float my boat.
I did like the one that you showed with the hand...that's really cool!!

Some are a wee bit strange (Like the one for Funeral Biscuits!) but a LOT of them are based on vintage items and I have to say that a lot of vintage stuff can be very macabre! Like how they used to take pictures of the dead person and keep them in an album. Uh.....can you say REALLY CREEPY!?!?
Yes, a little creepy- that "Our Darling" is right off a headstone, I'm sure. But like someone said, definitely vintage. I guess vintage is not my style!
I like the vintage ones..but not the "creepy ones" some of them are funny ..but not my style..i do .like vintage and nostalgic tho..and they have some that i fancy too there..loves ya Gail

About 12 years ago, I bought my mother stamps for Births, Deaths, Marriages that she uses to mark the important information down in geneaology for a quick reference.
I agree with others, there's some really neat stamps on that site though... and creepy ones too!
It appeals to the goth crowd, or sometimes outsider artists....not exactly Mary Engelbriet, but ....you know...there are stamps for everyone...seach goth on ebay for some interesting art. Also a lot of day of the dead stuff out there....if you are having a dark day.....I guess it could be interesting. Everyone should get in touch with their dark side...in the safe environment of your stamp room.
Lest we forget how large of an industry Halloween has become, with no end in sight to it's growth. I can see where these stamps would have a niche appeal.

I really like those - but I am strange I guess. Here in Halifax we have an old cemetary that has been converted into a park and it has a lot of those headstones. I like to go there....lol.
They've been around awhile - I can vividly remember seeing their booth at the very first stamping convention I attended and laughing hysterically at their unique style. The one that totally sticks in my head is a single toilet - and you could purchase the sentiment "Urine my thoughts." Funny, yes, but even *I* wouldn't use that one
state lunatic hospital?!?!? OUY!!! What would you use that one for?
~Kendra
I think that would probably be one of the most useful stamps for me here lately....I threatened to make my co-worker a card that had a theme that a stamp with a lunatic hospital would fit nicely into...

I am the lucky recipient of one of those atc's by Jan.
thanks a lot for enabling me, by showing me those stamps, LOL!!! some are definitely out there, but that is what makes them so cool, there is a bunch i want...one, is a tombstone that says "death by candy corn" LOL
Wow! Lots of replies here, thanks! It's great to see input from people. And your replies help me understand some of these more. I figured a lot of the skeletons were for day of the dead & Halloween. Not my thing, but a lot of folks like that stuff. Reading the posts about how a lot of the death related things would be vintage makes sense from what you've said about people keeping pictures of the deceased, etc. Also, the post about using them for geneaology (I can't spell it!) makes sense, too.
Oh, I have to add that the State Lunatic Hospital is in Worcester, Mass. on the stamp. My mom is from Worcester Mass! I was half tempted to get that to make cards for her family! Could put, "looks like they found your birth certificate!" LOL!
And, as I said in the first post, I thought Jan's card was so cool! In college I took an art class for elementary teachers & we had to make something out of clay. I made a goblet with the hand holding it. I like "clever" art.....just not stuff about death!
I had never heard of this company until now, thanks so much for sharing! Maybe I'm a little wierd, but I like most of them, very neat and so different from everything else on the market these days.... my only problem was trying to think of where I would use some of them!!!

I was wondering what one might do with the toilet stamp and the toilet paper stamp!! I'm sure there are some other creative ideas out there for those stamps as well!
Well, I must be the oddball one here then...
I agree that not all are my style, but some of them look like they would be fun to play with!! There are some cool images mixed in there!!

I recognize them from my favorite links. LOL I like the weird and creepy stuff. I make a lot of "other" type cards for DH that I don't upload because they would probably be reported (like once I drew an actual human heart, with the veins and gory dripping blood) - and I had the sentiment "my heart bleeds for you" or something like that). But we get a kick out of them.
