Default Do I really need another StazOn inkpad?

I've had my StazOn Jet Black inkpad for many years (about 17). I have re-inked it many times, and it's gotten to the point where it just won't stay inked. It's sticky and dry every time I go to use it, which isn't often.

Yesterday I used a Memento inkpad to stamp onto a shimmer cardstock, and it worked perfectly. I had to let it dry for a few minutes, but once it was dry, it didn't smear or blur.

I was thinking of buying a new StazOn inkpad, but after using the Memento, I realized that I probably don't even need to. Is there any surface that Memento won't work on that StazOn will? Thanks!

It probably depends on what you want to stamp on, I tend to reach for stazon to stamp on acetate. ( I have not tried memento on it) and stazon smells like stick an ice pick in your brain to me so, in my case the answer is no, I really don't need anymore of those pads but, what I tend to do if its just a slick surface paper is stamp with versafine then cover it with either clear powder or black powder and heat set it. ( that works too)

I purchased quite a few StazOn pads back in the day. They’re good for stamping on dominoes which was a thing for a while. I think they were also used for stamping on tiles to make coasters. I agree the odor is intense. I just got a Memento Tuxedo Black pad, so I don’t have experience using it on other surfaces.

I've never had a StazOn pad.  I've been stamping for 18 years.

Yep, I did the dominoes, the coasters, the tiles, etc.  That's what I used to use StazOn for.  Now I really don't think I need it for what I'm doing.  I have other inks that can be used with alcohol markers, watercolors, pencils, and for stamping on acetate and coated papers.  Thank you all for helping me decide.

I hate StazOn with a burning passion! I use Ranger Archival black ink anywhere I would have used StazOn, and have had no issues so far.

I didn't think Memento would work with Stazon, great idea!

I just used StazOn to stamp on vellum. I am glad I had it because all the other black inks I have just speared the greeting!
