Do I need an OTT light?
I have a $75 gc to Michaels, theres not a lot I want there...but I was considering an Ott light. Are they awesome or not? How much are they? I also have a 50% off coupon.
Any other suggestions for how to spend my money?
Thanks
Erin

Before you spend the money on the light fixture itself, consider what my DH got for me. I had a fixture (non-Ott) that took a compact fluorescent bulb. He purchased an Ott light CFL. The bulb fits in my current fixture and works great. I don't know where he got it or what he spent, but I can find out. Just another option to hopefully get more bang for your buck!

I have two 'Daylight Company' brand lamps (one is a clamp on for my art table) that also come with magnifying lenses, too. These cost less than the OTT, but work as well.

Yes, you NEED an OTT-Light! I have 2 and an Office Depot brand desk light. The OTT is a brighter wattage, which I prefer - I suggest you buy the largest wattage you can.

I like mine ... I'm getting a little older and my eyesight isnt what it used to be. Also, I mostly scrap and stamp in the basement now and this light really helps me to see better.

I really like mine a lot. I consider it a great investment. Makes seeing the true colors a lot easier.

JoAnns has a smaller OTT for $24.99 this weekend. I saw it hooked up and it puts off very good lighting. I love my OTT. Makes all the difference in the world. I don't recommend the battery operated one. It's to heavy.

I have a floor lamp version of the OTT-lite and I love it. I can swivel it back and forth between my projects and my supplies so I can see their true colors--really useful, and I think it uses less energy than the overhead lights would.

I have two on my desk and I love them. The light is perfect and I can take great photos of my stuff under them.

Yes, you *need* one! I have one on my desk and a floor lamp and love them both. It really reduces eye strain for me and I can see true colors. It's amazing how much better I can match up cardstock now!

Just a different opinion - I had a small desk top Ott light and didn't like it because it tipped over too easily.
I couldn't bear to spend the money for the Ott floor model, so I found a great substitute at Big Lots. It's called a Daylight lamp and stands on the floor next to my table. It has a goose neck and swivels just where I need the light.
I paid $29.00 for it and got an extra bulb free. I believe it works just as well as the Ott for a lot less money.

I {heart} my OTT light! I procrastinated on buying it FOR.EV.ER. but now I don't know what I'd do without it! Shortly after I bought mine, dh bought one for himself, too (he paints minature figurines). We both love them!

Yes you need an Ott or comparible light. I have 2. One clamps to my desk, and the other is a portable light. I bought these originally for working with polymer clay and didn't even think of using them for stamping.. what a difference they did make once i woke out of that !
