I'm flying into Detroit Metro 10/2 and was wondering if there were any special shops I should check out while fighting rush hour traffic to my hotel? I'll only be there through Sunday morning and my gal-pal has most of the time fun-filled (it's her daughter's Bat Mitzvah). So ... my only free time is probably while going from the airport to the hotel.
Any suggestions? I'm not starved for stores. I have some very productive ones in my area.
Billie Dee enjoy Michigan and remember we don't bite! Yes, I am from Michigan. I own a bar very close to the that sticker store on Dix that was recommended. I will be honest though I have never been in it. It is on my to do list though. In Michigan I go to Archivers, Joanns, Michaels and some private stores further out in the Chelsea area. My favorite to die for store is in Northville, called Stamp Peddler Plus. It is worth the drive.

There is also a store in Farmington Hills on 12 mile near Halstead it is called Scrapbook Zone. Lots of paper, some stamps, lots of accessories. I love the Northville Store as well. It is called Stamp Peddler Plus. There is also a store on Plymouth Rd in Livonia called Stampin and Scrappin. I don't know where you are staying but these stores are all fairly easy to find.

We recently moved from Michigan and my favorite store was Jane's Craft Studio in Waterford, Michigan. It's right on Dixie Hwy which makes it easy to find. She has a great selection of rubber stamps, inks, and about everything else a stamper could want.
I really miss going there!

Ladies -
Thank you very much! I don't need to do M's, HL, or JAs. We have those here. I'll see what I can scramble around and do.
Chelsea area
Northville, called Stamp Peddler Plus ***** to die for <grin>
Farmington Hills on 12 mile near Halstead it is called Scrapbook Zone
Plymouth Rd in Livonia called Stampin and Scrappin
Sticker Store n More is only a 15min drive from downtown. I75 South to Dix road (near Nicole's Mom's bar ...just as tempting)
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
Location: prolly in my 'rubber room'... in the mid-west

and I'm printing that word document.
I'm staying in Farmington Hills.
I leave Thursday.
These may be just a bit too far north for you but I'll list them anyways.
Maggies Scrapbooking on Sashabaw Road, Clarkston (just off of I-75) (convenient and very nice)
Live, Laugh, Love and Scrap on Washington St., Oxford (my all-time favorite :-) )
Paper Tales on Nine Mile, Roseville (I think) - I've been there once and was really impressed.
Enjoy your stay in MI :-) and happy shopping!

Well - I made it to Stamp Peddler and wow! what a store! I also went to Scrappy Chic and watched a Slice demo. (*laugh* I had to show the gal how it worked. Guess I watch too many videos. *laugh*) I tried to find "The Scrapbook Zone" in Farmington but it had moved.
What a wonderful afternoon I spent with an old girl friend as I dragged her to all these shops. She's going to do a scrapbook now!
Thanks again, all. You helped make my trip even more fun!
