I loved them when I used them in class with Ken Oliver, enough to buy almost every color! That was 4 weeks ago and I haven't yet played with them at home, though, but I am optimistic. They are so neat, very changeable and interesting. My favorite technique that we learned was: sprinkle powder on watercolor paper, spritz with water, dry a bit with heat gun, let drops of water fall onto it and wait for 60 seconds and then blot. Then fill in the empty spaces made by the water droplets with more color!
I've had fun with them, and I've found, less is more! A little goes a long way, and the more I play and use them with stamps, I find I don't like to overdo it. If you have a LSS, you might see if they carry them, and usually they have a sample color to demo. That's how I got hooked!!
I have the Brushos, which are similar. And yes, I do love them. I still want to try some of the techniques Dina showed in that tutorial, the bleached one looks fab.
I'm a big fan of the original - Brusho - but I'm old school like that.
Extremely vivid color and crazy economical - I'd split a set of Brusho with a friend - you'd both have more than you'd use for a long time. 32 colors now.

I am looking for someone to split a set of brushos with, i am willing to do all the work, purchase the vials that Dina recommended. however, i cannot start until mid november. i thought it would be fair if we split it by - i do the work and the other person can pay for shipping?
brushos set of 24 is $76 on amazon

Jaw drops, that sounds very pricy unless it's including postage? I got mine for what translates to $45 at today's exchange rate. Have you checked out their own website? It's not the easiest to navigate but it's probable that you could get all 32 colours for around the same price as that. http://www.colourcraftltd.com/default_p.asp?RangeID=13#
You'd have to email them to ask about shipping. If you did go that route, you could try the thickener too, I'm really intrigued by that and will get some. I doubt if 100g, which is under 4 ounces, would bump the postage up much.
I think they were at a show here last year, I just need to check the exhibitor list from last year, but I'm sure I got some spray mists from them.

I paid the same price for my set of 24 last year, but the same set is now listed on dickblick.com for $108. In February I paid $2.84 for the individual pots, and they're now listed at $4.94.
I think the prices are driven by demand - something gets popular and the price goes up : ( I paid the $76 for 24 Brusho on Amazon a month ago - it was the best price I could find. No shipping or tax, though. Mine arrived last week the day before we left for vacation so I haven't had a chance to play, yet.

I've seen this happen a LOT. I saw it with Derwent Inktense too. We need to be stealthy - all get together and place our orders right at the same second! LOL.
I think I paid less when I first bought them - but even at the current pricing on Amazon, Brusho is about .21 / gram, where Color Burst is more like $1 / gram.
omg, that's such a great price. please, please , doesnt anyone want to split a set with me??? i will do all the work of splitting them up and putting in little shaker bottles.

I love the look! I had them, Ken Oliver's.....gave them away. I used them a few times. I tried to clean up. I had paint flakes ALL OVER! I couldn't handle the mess.
It's very fine powder that went all over the place. I had thought I had finished cleaning and then I'd find more. I was concerned that it would end up on the rug in my craft room.
So, I gave them to my gf who loves them and uses them regularly making beautiful cards.
I LOVE them!!! Can't wait to get the 6 new colors. I watched enough videos to see that they are messy so when I work with them, I use a box lid ... this seems to keep the fine powder contained and it doesn't get everywhere!!!!
