Great idea, Krystie. However, I am quite uncreative when it comes to words, so here are my ideas for a keyword:
CAS (clean and simple)
ML (minimal layers)
Not that I'm not impressed with fancy-shmancy cards and scrapbook pages, but I'm a clean and simple kind of gal as well. I'm glad to see there are others.

I can't claim that any of my creations are on the same level as the people mentioned above (except for when I CASE them! :mrgreen, but I'd love to be kept up to date on this stuff! I like CAS for clean and simple. OLC is good for some things, but sometimes I want a simple card that's more than one layer.
Thanks for posting this thread....I *LOVE* the clean and simple look....the less is more theory....can't wait to check out all the blogs {just started using google reader!}...
I have two requests....first, can we come up with a keyword to use in the gallery when we upload a project that is clean and simple?
Second, I'd love to, on this thread, get a list of galleries and blogs that feature clean design.
Thanks!
Krystie~ *blushing* a tad...I have missed playing with my minimal layers these last few weeks and look forward to posting more here soon~
I LOVE the idea of a key word!!! super idea! I am on board!!!
My husband *really* doesn't like the multi-layered, multi-embellished looks.
This week, I used a nestibilities rectangle to emboss a rect. and stamped a simple bird in the middle of it - he says it's his favorite card I've ever made....
it took... maybe 30 seconds to make.
I do many styles of cards - but simple and clean is one of my favorite.

Kurtis (http://www.stampinkub.com/blog/) is also a great clean and simple designer. I love love love starofmay -- her blog is awesome. And Sharon (No Time To Stamp? Blogs at Splitcoaststampers ) is also a great stamp simply kind of gal -- her blog is also one of my favorites these days!!
I am really addicted to simple designs these days and I love the idea of CAS for "clean and simple" as a keyword!!
Dumb question...what are the parameters of clean and simple and minimal layers? I don't use a lot of embellishments, but I tend to use a lot of background stamps to add texture, so to speak!! I just am not sure where I fit!! LOL!!

Something where the card looks *great* without a million overdone things to it~ whether it be layers/embellishments or just *stuff*!!!!
These two are some of my faves by Krystie btw~
Sometimes clean and simple cards are the hardest to create....because the minimal embellishments/layers have to be selected perfectly for a card to really be good.
I LOVE this look too....AND the some wonderfully embellished or amazingly colored cards....Guess my preferences swing all over but I love this thread so I can check out some more of these amazing designs.
I think this is a great idea as well. I am pretty CAS mostly because I am newer to stamping and have fewer supplies. The stampers mentioned above seem to be the ones whose cards I have favorited! I like the looks of more also but I tend to keep my cards more simple.
I really like the clean and simple cards. They are beautiful with the stamps and backgrounds. With many additional items on a card, it seems to take away from the classic look.
Great thread. Will have to remember CAS for a keyword if that is what you guys are going to stick with. I went to look at my gallery and have decided that most of my cards on just my first page (and I'm set to 96) are CAS. They are also on my blog, of course these are not all SU sets if that is what you are looking for.
With an exception here or there I like to think of my self as a simple girl!! I have alot of patterned paper but tend to get a creative block when I try to use it!!! Therefore alot of my bg's are stamped...allowing for a more cohesive look....but that's just my opinion!
Here are some CAS cards I have saved to my favorites lately. I am really drawn to this style as well, and feel like I've hit the jackpot when I've found an awesome CAS design!

Hope that helps, and I love the idea of using CAS Krystie! Good thinking... now to remember to use it!
