Do you know what this weekend is?
VSN - Virtual Stamping Night! We start Friday evening at 5 PM EST and there will be 5 challenges at the top of each hour that night.
Then come back Saturday at 1Pm for 9 more challenges at the top of the hour!
The hostesses have worked hard behind the scenes and hope to see you there. The deadline for uploading is April 3rd so you can sit back and enjoy the creative process over the weekend! And it's ALL Free! There are so many "weekends" and classes on the internet these days that come with a price tag but VSN is free! What a deal! Here is the link to head to the thread and have a look around before the weekend! Virtual Stamp Night Forum at Splitcoaststampers
I still need one more mini for the VSN to do I think, the flower one. I kinda messed with my self because at the time I was looking at the mini I was doing samples for the IC and I used my "flower" for that for the rainbow one knowing I would struggle to do a card with so many colors in it.

So is the MINI still open? Because I made a card for it before I realized I was on a wrong day and the MINI had already happened.
Well drat! I listed a lot of challenges and forgot to hit enter. :( I went to go get the MIX link and got lost in the art samples then just started closing out my tabs. Aggh. That is my sign I have been up way too long.
Yesterday our Watercolor Wednesday Challenge was a lot of fun. If you are interested in watercolor but have been intimidated this is a great challenge to try! It's also a fun way to create a scene if you have been watercoloring for years! WCW096 - March 30, 2022 - Birch Trees by Benzi at Splitcoaststampers
There is still plenty of time to play along with the VSN! Did you play in any of the challenges this weekend? I have one to photograph and one to put a sentiment on! We have until the 3rd so let's get creating and join the fun! Virtual Stamp Night Forum at Splitcoaststampers
Is there anyone here that remembers the first sketch challenge? Do you have a fond memory of a sketch challenge? If you would like, link us to your first Sketch challenge card!
I was not around for the first sketch challenge.
Here is a link to not only my first sketch card but also my first ever upload to SCS. It was also one of the first cards I ever created. I might have created a handful before I joined SCS but not many. sc343 Thanksgiving by ohmypaper! at Splitcoaststampers
The Circle Guru was the sketch creator. I remembered her from when I was on Stamp Nation. Ally is such a great woman full of helps and encouragement, so I felt comfortable creating a card with her challenge and posting here. The stamp set I used was a gift from Ally with one of her challenges on Stamp Nation. This was my introduction to Power Poppy. I fell in love with the stamp sets and now have several both physical and digital.
I do need to create for the 900th challenge. That is a major accomplishment!

Reason: wrong card posted
Angie, I wasn't around for the first sketch challenge either. In 2016 I thought it was time that I moved from being a card case-r to being a card creator. I posted my first four cards in March 2016. They were sketch challenge cards but not sketches from here, they were Mojo Monday sketch challenges. I don't like my first SCS sketch challenge card, but here is my second one: Birthday Biking by cdimick at Splitcoaststampers
I was hooked and started trying to make daily cards for the daily challenges. Someone who had been on the site much longer warned me not to overload and burnout. I'm so thankful for SCS and the wonderful, encouraging community here!

I love your tandem bike! So cute. I left a comment on the card. Mojo Mondays were so much fun. Good advice regarding the Dailys. I love them all but I can't do them all. I think too long for every project I create.
We are so fortunate that you are part of SCS!
Hugs
Took me a few months before I discovered the sketch challenge here on SCS. Looks like my first one was SC594. I think I had a particular stamp set that I wanted to use and was looking for inspiration on how to use it. I don't remember making this card at all. I have no idea who I sent it to, but I'm sorry for it. Oh my, I have come a long way in cardmaking.
Here is my first sketch challenge card: SC594 Flowers and Butterflies by Jennifrann at Splitcoaststampers
Since that first awful SC card, I have started working my way through all the sketches. I think they are so great for when I'm stumped for what to do with a card. The last old one I did was SC251: MMTPT714 Some Bunny Special by Jennifrann at Splitcoaststampers
when I first started poking around in here, I didn't really hit the forums. But it looks like the first sketch I played in it had already been going on for a while. Thank-You! SC133 by JBgreendawn at Splitcoaststampers
funny true story, I still have that roll of ribbon and that stamp
Today I am painting a snow angel lady from Inky Antics that is a retired stamp. I received one years ago as a gift from a lady here in an exchange and then last year as I was going through my stamps I realized I could not find it. ( I have been on a tear ) the end is nearing in sight hahaha.
Yes, I have said that before but, I really have spent entirely too much time hunting for things so, I have ordered some drawer storage and I am going to move my wood block stamps to the drawers when the rest of them arrive ( friday... got tracking numbers for every one of them)
I think I am going to let go of some things, ( I've said that before too)
we shall see.
Jen, thanks for sharing your first sketch card! I love the bright colors! I am loving the pink strips!
Your most recent sketch card is soooo cute! Lovely layering too!
Stacy, Your first sketch card is so pretty. How fun that you still have the flower ribbon.
I hope your organization helps! I still lose things and I have 3 fabric pattern-sized cabinets. I lost my bone folder for 2 days. It was in the Copic caddy with the yellow and green markers instead of right next to it in the blue markers where I always place it. Sheesh.....scary.

It's Watercolor Wednesday and I am your hostess. The projects in the gallery are gorgeous and this really isn't too hard as you can use a stamp for the image if you like. ( say it's not too hard, because I can make even simple things difficult. LOL) WCW099 - 4/20/22 - Color Blocks with Doodles by ohmypaper! at Splitcoaststampers
This week marks the 100th Watercoloring on Wednesdays challenge. Does it really seem like it has been going on that long? on one hand I feel like I have learned tons trying new things and on the other hand I feel like there is a long sweeping winding road ahead of things to still be learned. what a cool place to be in right?
you can find this challenge here to give it a whirl, and if you have never played before ( its an easy one)
Stacy, I can't believe we are celebrating our 100th Watercolor Challenge! I feel exactly the same as you. It just doesn't feel like it's been that long but I know I have grown and have soooo much more to learn!
I read the challenges daily, even if I don’t always participate. I noticed that today’s Friday challenge is about music as was yesterday’s Thursday challenge. I’m wondering how often this happens.

it happens, sometimes there is say a "coffee lovers external blog hop" and people on the daily teams are say on company teams that are sponsoring that hop, so you will see a lot of cross linked coffee projects that week if not actual coffee themed daily challenges...
or a major holiday comes along and there will be a lot of well its almost Mothers day so I'd expect to see blooms coming along for the next little while. kwim? who knows if it will happen but, I only see challenges in advance for teams I am on, so. it is one of those things that makes you roll your eyes and JINX and keep going.
