Not going to try multiple links in one post, but I thought I'd mention that VSN have a hostess call-out for the summer "Fantasy Worlds" theme. Check out the VSN section in the challenges forum for more info. In books, Terry Pratchett's Discworld has to be my favourite fantasy world. But I'm not sure I could make a card based on it, or conceive of an accessible challenge!

I bet you could! From my limited knowledge of the series, you could ask for a card with one of the creatures that feature prominently in one way or another (turtle, elephant, orangutan spring to mind) or pick a book title that suggests a theme (Going Postal was the first one I thought of - mail-themed projects).
Good Morning & Happy Mothers Day if you are celebrating this.
It always catches my eye that they do that holiday in the UK so much earlier than in the US.
I was lucky enough to have my son home for almost two weeks recently and just had to let him go again and have been playing catch up ( and cleaning and cleaning  ever since)
I am giggling in my coffee mug over the title of the CAS ( I have not read it yet)
Looks Like the Technique challenge is (oh boy, hang on to your hat) a fancy fold that looks like its on steroids... ( I choke when seeing these constructions)
Good Morning, ( yes, its still morning in my time zone and my secretary is on vacation stay-cation this week so, of course I have lots more morning meetings than usual ha.)
(its only day 2 of the hostage situation here and you can tell I miss her desperately right?)
the teapotter's are sending 3-d cards to Jeanne ( a friend of Faith's) it stands to reason, that if you did not already know this, if you'd like to arrange a card shower for what ever reason. You can let someone on the teapot team know so they can get that happening.
The home page says there is a scrap book variety today ( who knew?) I have not scrapped in years and I have never done the scrapping challenges but, what I seen from the link it does not look like its active at the moment? ( anyone know?)
I need to get back to scrapbooking. But I don't seem to make the time for it right now. I have wondered about the scrapbook challenges on the home page too.
( I have one son, and one year when he was about hmmm under Jr. High aged) I decided scrapbooking would be one more place I could stamp. ha ha so, I really went in deep and I did like 24 albums in a couple of years ( some were gifts for other people ) but, I quickly came to the realization that if I continued with it at the rate I was going I would need a Semi to move him out.
and the funny true story part is at 25 ( he is still not "moved out" we have tons of things stored in the barn and his bedroom ) He is looking at buying a home and if that happens this stuff is going going gone.
Today the Ways to Use it is going the scenic route. ( I have so many ideas floating along from peeking at the challenges so far this week but, have not had time to steal to do any of them yet)
I actually kind of switched to card making from scrapbooking because I could have a completed project in a few hours (or less depending on the card complexity) versus days and days of scrapbooking. I also decided I needed to switch to digital because the paper scrapbooks take too much room so I get what you mean about needing a semi to move him out!
No thumbs in the inspiration? I can't complain, when I don't play along, but I do often look at the thumbs and the week that it was the papier mache, I would have been so tempted if it fit into my schedule better these days.
I am not sure its allowed and I tend to hesitate to the point of not doing it at all the last few years since it was pointed out to me we can open the site up to litigation if we snag the wrong photo.
I think of some groups of people as being more aware and protective of their copy rights than others and I probably should not have shared the paper mache art either. (but, there is not set in stone rule over this so, I just don't know)
I am never sure if I should put some in to open it up, and then remove them all say at the end of the week. ( even though we tell people there are not time limits to daily challenges) I do know Julie spent a lot of time removing photos from old challenges ( but, not all of them) and I have never totally understood how some are chosen and some are left alone.
Ah, right. No, it's not worth the extra admin of taking them down after a week.
I just wondered why some of the challenges seemed to have them and others didn't.
I agree, it's hard to know. Between the internet and Google searches (and BING, not to give all the credit to Google) so much is out there in the public domain. I kind of of feel if you don't want it public you just don't put it on the internet, next best option is good watermarking.
Some places also give you a Creative Commons attribution text that you can add if you use the image, I've done that when it's an available option. I think I've done it for the WTUI a couple of times - like here;WT802 ~ What's Your Type ~ {07/23/20} by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers
It was nice to get that option.
Lydia probably needs to update the challenge hostess guidelines, in that case - as currently they say that any information needed to do the challenge ought to be fully contained within the challenge post.
The Featured Stamper this week is Robyn! Oh, I do love her gallery!
There are several ways we can make our Featured Stamper feel special! Play along in the challenge is the first way but if time does not permit, how about leaving a comment on one of her recent uploads? Another way is to leave a congratulations comment right there in the challenge!
The Color Challenge is soft and pretty! Makes me think of going to the beach!
The Teapot Challenge is for our dear friend Jean (naturecoastcrafter). She is such a sweet presence at SCS. I had no idea she had a heart attack.
The Dirty Dozen Fan Club Gallery for May is open and that means we get to celebrate two new Dirty Gals! Congratulations to Donna and Gem! Stop by and congratulate them and if you are Fan Club member play along with this month's theme!
I am hosting the Watercolor Wednesday Challenge this week! If you haven't had the chance to use Dina's Misted Watercolor Tutorial but you have wanted to give it a go, we would love it if you joined us! It's a fun break from freehand painting!
The Sketch Challenge is up, it looks like a slimline design but could be used for A2-sized cards as well.
How about a few questions? How often do you use a tutorial from SCS? Do you have a favorite? Do you know how to place your card in a technique gallery?
I do enjoy using tutorials. My go-to and probably favorite technique is one I learned right here. It's fairly basic but makes amazing backgrounds. At SCS we call it the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique. I do know how to place my card in a technique gallery but I forget to do it quite often. :( Currently, I have fallen in love with Dina's Misted Watercolor Technique and we are using it today for the Watercolor Wednesday Challenge linked in comment #305.
I don't use the tutorials very often but the ones I have viewed are very helpful and well written/displayed. The newish faux tile technique looks super interesting but I haven't given it a try.
I don't know how to post in the techniques gallery, but I assume it's similar to posting for a challenge with keywords. Now that I think about it, I only had a vague notion there were such galleries from mentions from other people but have never looked at them specifically for ideas. I will try to remember this as a future resource,
Also, I wanted to mention I think the Watercolor Wednesdays challenge (meaning overall not just one week) has been a huge success. I am always impressed by the paintings of the loyal WWC participants and all the talent and creativity shown there. Super addition to the challenges.
Yes, Angie, I love the tutorials section of SCS. There are so many to explore! I don't think I could name a favorite one though. And I do know how to post to the technique gallery and try to remember to do that.
I LOVE the tutorial section. I use many of them again and again. In the dim and distant past I used to have time to try most of them the week they featured in the Inkling, now that's very rare. I particularly like the background techniques, but I'm always ready to try a fold at least once. And I almost always put them in the technique gallery, because personally I love browsing them. I consider it like being able to go to the right shelf in the library and find what you are looking for straight away, when people upload to the designated gallery. One advantage of those galleries over a simple search is that you can run a slideshow. I used to do that when DH and I were listening to radio quizzes together before the laptop died :-(. Our real library, sometimes I find it easier to click and reserve than find some books in person, LOL. And it can be the same here.
Debbie, uploading to the tutorials is more like uploading to SU set galleries. You choose Technique Spotlight from the first drop-down menu, and then the alphabetical listing opens up. The catch is that all the Holiday Blitz tutorials nest under H for Holiday (they've been part of Falliday Fest recently, previous to that they were just a daily tutorial for a week to ten days coming up to the holiday season. Some of them, I remember that's where they hide out, some of them I have to click on the gallery link in the tutorial and look at the breadcrumb trail.
Hi ladies....just found this chat for challenges. If you host a challenge are you supposed to post on here too?
I read back a little way....and Stacy, yep I still scrapbook and the front page link takes you nowhere on scrapbooking. We have to go through the Forum and scrapbooking thread there. We currently have weekly Work It Wednesday challenges set by whoever comes up with one. It's very casual and only a handful of us are still determined to keep the thread alive.
I love the Watercolour challenges but don't do enough. I did do yours Angie in my art journal and after 2 coats it looks a mess. I won't be sharing that one LOL. I will keep practicing.
I like sketches but if I see folds I run a mile. My goal is to change that this year...hasn't happened yet and already we are heading towards end May LOL.
Tutorials....I knew they were there and rarely look at them unless I need to remind myself of a technique. Again, my goal is to change that.
Did you know that there's an MMJ challenge?....short for Messy Mix Joy. I did ask if we could have this one linked to the front page but no answer as yet. We take turns to host and I do practice the techniques on there. The current one is a challenge by Melody on making paper cloth. Very cool technique and reminds me of the serendipity challenge Sabrina set some weeks ago.
Waving and sending hugs to you all.

Monthly: MMJ Challenge….get inky and have fun
Hi Jayne, anyone can link up anything
Looks like today there is a fashion / Clothing challenge thrown down for the Ways to Use it this week.
I do not know what messy journal ( sorry first cuppa Joe here) is, can you link that up?
I do know there is a monthly Christmas Card Challenge and more than a challenge its really like a encouragement group. people set a goal and the entire years worth of monthly themes are tossed out at the end of the previous year. ( some people work ahead) Me, I am hit and miss with it.
That group of challenges hide here. (each month has its own thread) and cards get a keyword so they are easily found in the gallery.
I love Sketch challenges, and I used to think color challenges were difficult, but have been trying them more often lately.
One challenge I love is the Alpha challenge : ) It is on session 15 now and we are doing techniques- and Teapot Tuesday too! I also try to do MMJ challenges!
I want to do the Watercolor challenges, and hoping I will have more time now I have a couple of regular commitments off of my plate for the summer (piano and teaching religious education).
I really love the Tutorials section and wish it was there when I first learned to stamp! LOL I was so clueless! So many great resources in the techniques area- I love that the tutorials have video's to watch and a picture tutorial as well.

Thanks Sabrina. I would have gotten it wrong if I tried on my own. And a shout out on your comment on my hummingbird die card — I too was happy that you could cut the individual pieces. It is a bit annoying to have to cut something from multiple colors to get what you want then have all those bits left over. I have a baggie of those right now. Someday they might even get used.
Oh man, that VSN totally snuck up on me. what fun challenges. ( I just got home so of course most people all have their heads down being inky about now right?)
