The TLC is bursting through this week.
( I have not clicked on anything as of yet but, in the back of my mind reading those words I know I have picked up some exposed brick stamps for making scenes a while back and never inked them yet. so it will be interesting to see what it is actually about) TLC858 ~ Time To Burst Through ~ {08/02/2021} by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers
I would really like to play in this one. My sister is a first-time teacher this year and she is in her 50s! I am so proud of her for following her dream. I wish I lived near her as she is putting in 13 hour days. I would love to help her out with a meal or something! She has been working all summer to get ready. In Indiana schools started last week, I believe. I can't imagine being a teacher these days!
Congratulations to your sister, Angie! What grade will she be teaching? I wish her the best. We need good teachers, it is such a challenging job.
She is teaching 1st Grade.
As a Para Pro, she wrote little books about a dog and taught kids to read. Children who flat out told her that she would never teach them to read were begging for more of her books and finished the school year reading. I can't wait to see what she accomplishes as a full-time teacher.
The Ways To Use It challenge is live. We would love to see you come play with us.
Also note, we had no idea that Teapot Tuesday was going to have the same theme this week but we hope you cill still come play in the Ways To Use If challenge.
Lisa, I think most of us enjoy creating with the same themes many times over. I really like how you have encouraged everyone to play along with your idea to make a "school of fish" card even if they don't need a back-to-school card.
Stacy mentioned DTGD. Who is ready? Are you hosting a challenge, are you a sample maker, or a participant? Do you have a week's worth of meals made up? I love DTGD! I will be a little less active this year due to some eye issues but I will still pop in as I can. I can't wait!
Stacy, stay safe. So sorry about smoke, So awful.
Shelly, I agree. My mantra seems to be, "if only I had another day".
We have had ashes falling like snow here for a couple of days now, so I am hoping for some play time. I am so excited that DTGD dirty starts soon. [/QUOTE]
We have our vehicles packed because the River Fire is only a couple of miles away from our home. Right now, the fire is moving away from us but who knows which way the wind will blow?
Angie, I have been looking forward to DTGD but this fire has kind of taken over my brain power at the moment.
Oh, Catherine, that is sooooo scary. I am so sorry for all of you that have to deal with the smoke and the threat of losing everything. I can definitely see how this would overshadow creativity.
they have the bootleg fire about 85% contained now ( they think it will be out by Oct 1st instead of Nov) but, the ash is coming from the one in N. CA now hmm mind just went blank its not the river fire its the one that is almost as big as the bootleg. (I think a few fires have merged and I don't remember what its new and improved or consolidated name is off hand)
Catherine, stay safe. seriously nothing is worth lives. (says the chick who didn't have to evacuate)
Me, I am hosting one of the DTGD's and its on the last day so, I still have some wiggle room to finish my own sample. I get distracted by all the shiny other ones... Ooohh Shiny... ;)
Stacy, I just checked the site that is my go to source for fire information and I think you might be getting ash from the Dixie fire. As of this morning, it has burned 432,813 acres. It is hard to say as there are a lot fires burning in CA currently. I've had friends helping fight the Bootleg fire, I'm glad to hear that containment is so high on the Bootleg fire now.
This morning the fire near me is 30% contained. They anticipate full containment by 8/14. And today it looks like there is a fire nearby, very smoky, hazardous air quality. Yesterday you wouldn't have known. At this point, the fire is still moving away from us.
Stacy, you make me laugh about all the shiny challenges! I am like that too. Unfortunately, I haven't started even one sample yet. Thankfully, I only told one person I would make a sample. I hope I can play along some. Right now I have to get off the computer for a while. Sadly, my eyes are not very happy.
Catherine, I hope the fires keep moving away from you and I hope that it is contained soon!
And as it happens I made my sample for the IC to work with one of the Dirty Challenges that will go live in the morning. but, its not linked up to that as of yet.

We are celebrating Paseely this week as Featured Stamper! I love her gallery! I noticed that there are not many comments on her cards so this would be an excellent time to leave some love on a few of her cards and congratulate her for being this week's Featured Stamper! Since Saturday what has been your favorite challenge so far? Daily, DTGD or one of the other Challenges held at SCS?
I always love the Featured Stamper. I had the chance to play along with JayBee's DTGD Challenge. I had so much fun. I kept it CAS and just had fun. I REALLY want to play in LuvLee's challenge. I would also love to play in Lydia's first Challenge. So many challenges I would like to do how about you?
My list of ones I want to play in is long, I am almost to the ah heck combine them stage
but, so far I have not because, I just want to try them all and I know I will not have that much time to steal. So far I have done 9 of the 49 of them.

9 is great! I am sitting at 2 at the moment but I have one half put together and there is one, in particular, I really want to do. I almost let out a spoiler and typed which one! Yikes!
Hello Jennifer! We're here! Stacy is helping out and some of the other hostesses post too but I do get quiet from time to time and just post the challenge without extra chat.

I've had the opportunity to complete 10 of the DTGD challenges and hope to do a lot more...I'm paying a price with my sleep!
Stacy, over the weekend the air quality was the worst I've seen. They said it was smoke from the Dixie fire, not the fire that was close to us. Air quality improved Sunday night. Then, last night, another new fire started about 2 miles away from us. Thankfully, they stopped that one in its tracks!

Catherine, I went to bed at 2am last night trying to make a few comments on cards and loading the couple I have had made. I think 10 DTGD cards is fabulous! I need to go check out what you have created!
I am laughing out loud here, just seen the ways to use it WT857 - Home Sweet Home (8/12/21) by cathymac at Splitcoaststampers
is doing Home Sweet Home this week. and interestingly enough my sample I did for Mary's DTGD that went live this morning is a slice of home life with mysterious people...
I can't believe it but today is the last day of DTGD Challenges challenges! How fast did this week fly by? The last 8 challenges are live! Luckily we have until the 20th to upload so we can still play along!
Psst. If you are a daily challenge player, I would suggest taking a look at Stacy's (JBGreendawn) DTGD challenge!
good evening,
This week the Inspiration IC819 {Beautiful Food & Drinks} August 14, 2021 by JBgreendawn at Splitcoaststampers
is taking a look at a collection of food & drink photographs.
in the back of my mind a lot of the things we take time to create are for celebration events yes? and in my family/life that means food, food & drinks  so, it's hopeful that it will be an easy one for people to find something to jump start their mojo.
Shhh... Do you think everyone has their head down and is stamping with all the challenges that have come through like a tidal wave other wise known as DTGD week? Which is what I want to be doing... but, I am going to have to go refill my coffee mug to get anything done.
You know when its going to be a 2 pot day right?

what are you all up to this weekend?
Instead of stamping, I will be checking out everyone's great cards in the various DTGD galleries. So much to ooh and aah at and that takes a ton of time -- 2 pots for sure. LOL
I would LOVE to play in the 10-minute card. My husband and I have plans to get outside so I won't be able to create much today or tomorrow but that is the beauty of the SCS Challenges. They never close.

what are you all up to this weekend?
I am hoping to get in a few DTGD comments because we were gone this weekend so I need to catch up. We were moving our daughter back to college. Oh, these moments are so hard. I am always OK on the 2nd day but the first day after my kids leave, oh my heart! And I still keep thinking that she is going to breeze through the front door! We got to meet her boyfriend which was fun and also maybe a bit stressful.
So anyway, that is what we did on the weekend.
Stacy and I will do our best to keep your challenges listed as I am on stay-cation week.
