Default CC rock-a-blocks

I actually have two sets: the clear and the purple tinted. When I watch Sara use them on HSN craft days, she makes them look so easy. My problem or question is that the edges have a ridge on them, and if I forget to wipe the ink away it messes up my images. I have a hard time with those ridges on all the blocks, no matter what the size. I have to remember to wipe away excess ink, but Sara never seems to have this issue. Am I doing something incorrectly? Most of my stamps are the clear stamps and some are the rubber backed (which work better because they are thicker.). I do use a rubber 'mouse pad' under my stamping for extra cushion. Thanks for any advice !

I have the same problem with ink on the raised edges. I don't know how Sara manages to avoid this. Maybe picking up and applying the ink pad to the stamp instead of touching the stamp to the ink pad while the pad is on the table? I have tried both ways and, unless the rock-a-block is much larger than the stamp pad, I still have some ink on the edges. I have to keep reminding myself to wipe off the edges, because I have messed up more than one card with an unwanted "ink line."

This short video shows her applying the ink to the stamp:

There are several videos showing their use (even Lindsay, the frugal crafter):

Thank you Victoria. I see where I am making a mistake: I need to use a mini-ink pad and just make sure I don't get any ink around the edges of the rock-a-blocks. I have tried to wipe the ink clean, but it still smudges, so I need to avoid excess ink from the start. I guess with everything else, I just need a little more patience and practice!

Thank you for responding ! Happy Crafting...

You are very welcome. I have similar blocks (Ranger/Claudine Hellmuth) although since I have a stamping platform I haven't used them.
