I’d start with two:
- Neenah
Classic Crest in Solar White, either 110 pound or 80 pound, or both. Neenah has many lines of paper, and you want Classic Crest, not the lower quality Neenah Exact Index that’s sold at many big box office supply stores. I’ve met people on line and in real life who have said they don’t like Neenah and it’s turned out they’ve purchased Exact Index.
You can buy it in reams - in the long run much less expensive but it’s spend initially. Or you can buy it in smaller packs to try it out from shops like ellenhutson.com or scrapbook.com - or many others.
scrapbook.com happens to have a 25-sheet pack on sale now:
Neenah - Solar White - 8.5 x 11 Cardstock 25 Sheets
- Not sure which Zigs you have, but I use Zig Clean Color Brushes with Neenah as long as I’m not using a good amount of water. In that case, watercolor paper would be a good way to go. Canson XL is a nice, inexpensive paper. If you found you wanted to move up, there are great ones out there like Arches. Some people like Strathmore instead of Canson; it’s never liked me, however.
Jennifer McGuire has a video about papers you might enjoy. She even compares a package of Neenah Exact Index and Neenah Classic Crest to show how much thinner Exact Index is. Link:
