blessed easter
Has anyone cut the sentiment off this stamp? I would like to do that but the words are very close to the tulips and I wondered which would be the best way to do this?
|
Indeed. But I did it with my sharp scissors instead of my rubber scissors since it was so close!

I wish I had thought of it before I mounted it on the wood. I thought maybe I could cut it with my hot knife, but it wouldn't cut through the rubber part. The foam wouldn't be an issue. I haven't put the label on the wood yet because demo accidentally dropped the label out of the box at her place when she exchanged boxes for me. My box came cracked.

I did it! Yay! I used cutterbee scissors and cut through the rubber first then through the foam. Had a little sticky to rub off the block but its all good. Since the foam was extremely sticky on the sentiment I put it on a $1 acrylic block permanently! Two stamps in one!

Good to know. I often cut the sentiment off my stamps. Sometimes I just want the image not the sentiment.

I do this a lot! Some sentiments just aren't right for what I want the design for. I use a new single edged razor blade. Start with one point going into the rubber then lowering the rest of the razor like a guillotine blade motion. Then carefully and gently cut off any rubber that has stuck to the wood. Works the best for me and no clean up or sticky tools.

This stamp makes such a pretty image. I've made two cards already. I need to get them uploaded yet.

Very pretty cards, Kathy!! I left comments on both:)

Thanks Kathy!

I usually just put scotch tape over the part I don't need or if I want to go vertical and the stamp is made to go horizontal and stamp twice. I'm too scared to cut my stamps.
