Not to worry.....I'll definitely be bumping this to the top for the next month! I want to see LOTS of entries and give away a BUNCH of money to the winners
Actually, I'll post ALL of the cards I get on a big display board (just like Lana did) so you'll get to see ALL of the entries Then I'll scan the winners into the gallery.
Yippeee!!!! I can't wait to see this!!! What a great idea!
Am so glad Kathyc told me about this, I'm in! My nephew just got home from Iraq for a 2 week visit last night! My brothers Dr and the Red Cross intervened to get him home for a few weeks, how awesome is that!!!!
Now to think up an original card or two or more................................

I'm glad you found this contest, too! Good luck, Joni
I'm in. I will send extra cards too. My father in law has been to Iraq three times now. He is coming home in January, and hopefully we will be in Georgia to see him when he gets home

You can count me in too!! I have had some friends go over to Iraq (all are home safely now), but I am always thinking of those that are still there. This is a fun idea for a contest and we ge to help out a soldier at the same time. Great idea!!!!!!
I'll see what I can whip up to send you in addition to the contest. I don't think I'll have a problem sending you a bunch!!

What a wonderful idea and such an easy way for us to show support to the armed forces and their families. Thanks for managing the organization of this challenge.

This is such a wonderful cause! I will make cards. I am assuming that hte cards do not have to be current? Correct me if I am wrong on this. I just found the coolest card in the gallery. I am going to case it. Taishea
You do not have to use current sets--or even SU stamps.....anything goes! I'm judging more on quality and creativity.
*To all of those that offered to send extra cards for the troops*
First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! It really means a lot to me to be doing this.
Second, the extra cards you send do not have to be Christmas cards--just make sure to make it clear which cards are for the contest and which ones are for the troops.
Jennifer,
I have a question. How much does it cost the soldiers to send a card home from Iraq? I was thinking of putting postage on the envelopes. I don't know anyone in the service, but my father was in the army for 20 years. I was an "army brat" LOL

The postage for these soldiers is free! No charge!
At least they get something for free when they put their lives on the line!
Thanks, Rox71 for answering that question.......I had no idea.
Jennifer, how do you hear from your husband from Iraq? I know some of the guys have access to email and many use phone cards. Just wondering and besides, it keeps this at the top!

He uses a phone card (even though it's expensive) and he also has a laptop with internet. I'm so lucky to be able to keep in contact with him--it really helps! Thanks for asking
I'm want to play in your yard. . . I mean contest! I think this is a great cause and I want your husbands troop to feel our love! Thanks for doing this Jennifer! You rock!
