Default Back to school binders

I was in Walmart yesterday and they have different colored binders in different sizes and I was thinking about using a few to make some scrapbooks. Has anyone used a plain office type binder for scrapbooking? Is there a reason I shouldn't? I use SU plastic sleeves for the inside.

When I first started scrapbooking, I used 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and tried to use the regular binders. The problem with this is that the page protectors are bigger than the binder, so parts of them stick out.

I wondered if that would happen. Thank you.

I use regular binders for my children's school scrapbooks, and I have no problem with page protectors sticking out. I use the Avery acid & PVC free protectors.

Office Max, Office Depot and Staples sell 3 ring binders that have wider back and front covers. Look in the binder section and you will see the regular size binders and the wider ones. If you use the regular binders the page protectors stick out. They don't stick out of the wider binders .

I don't mean to be argumentative, but I use regular binders that you can buy in CVS. The protectors do not stick out. I think the best way to tell if they will stick out or not is to bring a protector with you and try it out in the binder. I use Avery PV119 protectors.

It depends on the protectors. Some of them have a plastic strip with the holes, then a "buffer" strip, then the sleeve. If they have that "buffer", they WILL stick out. If they don't, they won't

Most scrapbook specific sleeves have that buffer and will stick out. If you're using regular page protectors, they should be fine.
