I went to a craft sale this weekend and picked up a solid hand cream. It is about the size of a small cookie, smells heavenly, melts in your hands as you rub it into your skin. I believe they used a soap mold to create a flower shape on the top. It came in a small round aluminum type container with a lid. I paid $7 for it. I know some of the ingredients are. Beeswax, Shea butter, essential oils, cocoa butter and a couple of more ingredients. Anyone made this? I am looking for a good recipe and a place to purchase the raw materials. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sandy
I don't have a recipe for this type of bar, but I am also looking for it. Just yesterday a friend of mine requested I make some for her. I buy all my ingredients from Mountain Rose Herbs, and I love their company and philosophy.
I have been looking for recipes on solid hand cream.
I make this hand cream:
8-oz jar Vaseline
16-oz jar Vitamin E Cream
16-oz bottle baby lotion
Mix all ingredients for 3-4 minutes using a hand mixer until light and fluffy!! Put into separate containers to store.
It's a popular frugal lotion on the frugal boards. It's heavenly. I don't need ten billion of jar of it in my home, lol. That recipe makes a lot. I just mix enough to fit in my lotion bottle.
Thanks everyone. I did google lotion bars and there are so many recipes out there I came here hoping to find a recipe that someone here had made and was happy with. I have made the lotion listed above many times and love it but I really want to make the bars this time. I am off to check out the link.
Thanks
Sandy
They have excellent customer service (you can chat online with them during business hours to get your questions answered, which I really like). Hope that helps!

Hmm I'm going to have to cost out this compared to the other. I'm trying to move away from petro-chemical products.
Mahalo Crafty Mom - I was just thinking of trying this. . . allergies/sensitivities have me looking for gentler "soaps". I have it bookmarked. . . Mahalo Sandi for the OP. Enjoy ladies!!

I used a this recipe last year, and the people I gave it to all requested more of it. I wasn't happy with the baby lotion fragrance so I added pure lavendar oil. I'm making it again this year.

I use this recipe too, but I make mine more like a body butter by using Eucerine Intensive Repair as half of the lotion. This stuff is awesome! I use only unscented lotions in this, as the vitamin e cream has quite a bit of fragrance already.
I've made the solid lotions in the tubes, but they can be kind of hard to apply.
