Anyone else still working on their Christmas cards?
Oh my gosh.....am I the only one? I picked a fairly simple card this year. I seem to always decide on a really elaborate card, but this year I thought I would get finished sooner because it really is CAS.
I never want to start on Christmas until I have my Thanksgiving cards finished or I'd wouldn't get Thanksgiving done. I also hate to rush the season.
I only make about 20.
Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!

You are not Alone!
Today I finished my cards and got the envelopes addressed to mail tomorrow.
This year every time I turned around I got sidetracked doing something else that had to be done at once !
In desperation I wondered if I should just finish one card , take a picture of it and send an email of it saying that was the best I could do this year

About this time of year, I have a jump start on next year's cards. Now with that being said - I must explain-this does not include getting the inside done with a sentiment! That is my hang up! Last year I kept telling myself that I would COMPLETE the cards and even spruce up my envelopes this year and have them in the mail the day after Thanksgiving.
Sadly, that did not happen. I had about 1/2 of my cards with inside sentiment completed - the other 1/2 I have been scrambling to finish and none of the envelopes had anything special on them. :( And I didn't make as many as I did last year!
I mailed the remaining cards today - Whee!
I JUST finished my cards and am rewarding myself with some splitcoast time. I still need to get all six of us to sign them, and then address all of them. They WILL get out in the mail on Monday!
well, I tend to make them off and on, my hubs finds last minute additions. sometimes I receive one from people who were not on the list... so, I am still making them and any not used this year will be set aside for next year.
I am for sure getting back on the make them every month of the year wagon though, I used to do that... I didn't this last year so, I felt really behind a few weeks ago.
I just love making Christmas cards so its not a job to be done but a fun labor of love. I don't do many for any other holidays. Last year I put off going the insides but this year I'm doing them as I go!
Made an extra 5 after dinner tonight. Taking a break right now from addressing them. I have 5 more to address! Then I am done!!!

Ohhhh I have to hang my head in shame. I was so busy collecting ideas, trying new techniques and just plain browsing. I got out the cards I had done the year before to send and decided I didnt like them anymore. Sat and pulled them apart and just saved the image and a few bows, then continued to paint and colour and yes you guessed it 'I have nothing ready'. No Christmas cards this year I just decided I didnt want to send anything this late, and know it would be tossed end of next week. So I have started on next years and will do as I did last year and send end of November so they get to admire my unbelievable talent (lol) for a month and a bit, instead of a week and a bit. Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
Mine are made on my desk ready to address. *sigh* it never ends!!!! plus we have had a bug go through the house, and spending nearly 8 hrs today trying to sort out things that should have been straightforward. I might address tonight so I can go to the post office first thing.
Haven't started mine yet either - still waiting for one stamp set I ordered during
Thanksgiving week to show up. But in my family Christmas, we celebrate the 12 days of Christmas which goes until the 12th night or Feast Of the Epiphany so I figure I have until 1/5/2015 before I am late.
I got a really late start due to having pneumonia. Finally better and designed 2 cards, one for my BFF, and one for her mother. I do about 25 for each of them every year. Got started then had to have eye surgery a week and a half ago. Doing well but can't see well enough to work on cards yet. I had to tell them I couldn't get them done this year. :( My BFF bought cards and got them addressed this weekend and mailed today.
I've got some in my stash - maybe enough for this year - that I made before we moved. If I don't have enough then I'll make a few tomorrow and get them all out tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning. I had some gifts that I had to finish (three quilts and a handbag) so they could get mailed, and that was a higher priority...
I thought I was the only one -- all the stamping sites have switched to Valentine's and I feel like I really missed the boat on Christmas. I have about 10 more to stamp and write, most of those are delivered by hand. Maybe tonight!

Yeah well, I HAD half my cards made until my EPIC accident with the diet coke...surprisingly I made up for those lost ones pretty quickly, now they are all sitting nicely on my dining room table, waiting for envelopes and stamps!

I read your diet coke story. I know I wouldn't have been able to regroup after that. You did wonderful! I'd be sending those cute cards I saw at Barnes and Noble, or maybe none at all.

And yeah, I wish the "internet" was doing birthdays rather than Valentine's day. I can cope with Birthdays I can't cope with doing Valentine's day before Christmas. I get it that they are burnt out on Christmas but don't push another holiday that is nearly 2 months away (I guess with 2x31 day months it IS 2 months away) on me already.
I finished the cards last night and labels are printing as I type this so they will be in the mail today. Mailman doesn't come until around 4 pm so I have time.
Mine are downstairs on my desk waiting for me to stamp the inside sentiment and sign. Then I hope they fit a standard envelope, They are probably a touch too big. Either I'll have to make envelopes or I'll scrounge some big envies for them tonight. Hopefully, they will go out tomorrow.
After that I have to make Birthdays cards!

I got mine all together this morning. I had to take a half day off. Now I'm off to work. Tonight I have to die cut the SU Top note die in white for the sentiment to be stamped on inside the card. Tomorrow 5:30 am I'll be addressing them! Hopefully they go out tomorrow!

Hey, I'd love to see everyone's last minute cards. Mine is a case (CAS style))of a beautiful and involved card, but I don't know whose! Sorry! Here's my simple version. It's not put together in this photo.

This is my last-minute one that I made four of...a tiny bit fiddly with the inlaid die-cuts, but I loved how they came out and will be repeating them for some of next years stash.
I keep a spreadsheet from year to year (DH laughs at me) so the same people won't get them next year ;-) WT507 CAS Christmas by Cook22 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I shouldn't really have needed four - but I accidentally misted two CAS cards that were sitting on my desk waiting to stamp a message inisde, with a blue spray :-(. I can save the images, but there was fiddly scoring on the bases that I didn't have time to be bothering with doing over again.

I did send one or two with this stamped image! It is so much fun. I colored several more backgrounds, but they are in my stash to finish for next year.
Love your last minute cards, Sabrina! I have that sentiment and love that you paired it with the earth ornament.
I still have just a couple more to do that will be hand -delivered to a hospice and assisted living home where my mom is a resident.

I am still working on mine......I should be in my Craft Room right now but I am too tired and if I push myself, I just know I will mess something up so the cards will have to wait till morning. At least what I am doing doesn't need to be posted - it is just for handing to the person on Christmas Day.
I am working on one for my in-laws. It wouldn't be so bad if they were local, but I have to mail this to England. Oh, well, it's my day off, and at least I have the time to work on it!
Update: checked my stash and there aren't ANY Christmas cards in it! I must have given them away before I moved. I started eight cards last night - we'll see if I can swing getting them done today. Don't know if I'll have the mojo for more. I think I see store-bought in my future...
