12:09 and all is well. was able to get exactly what I wanted. Thank you Debbie Olson for your helpfulness tonight. Having a DT member answering questions is always reassuring. Thanks Nicole for your calm under pressure and good luck with the bugs, kinks and warts. I know you all will pretty it up toot sweet.
No problem! Wish I knew more to actually help. . . Goodnight!
It worked at the last minute once the new stuff got loaded! Got me my Lillies and some other fun stuff...thanks sooo much for visiting here and helping us all tonight, Debbie!
You're welcome! Glad that you got your Lily of the Valley!
I got just about everything I wanted. Just wanted that felt, too! LOL! But I spent enough. And I'll need to order the paper and the felt soon enough. ;) I can be patient. Very exciting!
Ok, does anyone know about the the inks and whether or not its just the new color that you get the ink refill with it for $6? Just curious before I decide on my order for other inks... TIA
Jennifer, the only one I've heard that mentioned for is the chartreuse. I don't think I'd count on the others being that way.
Yea!! Got everything I wanted except the paper (which I knew about) and felt. I had to place a second order because I forgot the eyelet die! Ooopsie! So excited!!!
I never was able to find the new color felt and Dawn's Color Couture showed as sold out. since I will place another order when the paper comes in on May 21st, I just figure I will pick up these items (and the eyelet lace die that I learned was misnamed after I ordered) at that time. Whew, what a rough day for the folks at PTI. I really feel for them as this couldn't have been fun for them.
Perhaps tomorrow all will be well at the new site and in another month we will all be laughing at this final "crash" of PTI's release nights.
I ordered everything I wanted except Simply Chartreuse paper.
I got the envelope liner, Up Up Away, Cloud Dies, Ink cube, and ribbon, Baby buttons bits. I wanted more but Already spent over my budget!! No more goodies till next month!!
I got everything I want, but they didnt add the Patterned paper until after I submitted my order. I put in the notes that I wanted to merge the order for shipping because it wasnt up when I ordered. Hopefully they will do that and I dont need to pay for shipping for the paper.
I ordered:
Up Up and Away, and the Sentiment
Lily of the Valley
Just for You
Cloud die
Balloon die
Ric Rack die
Mat Stack 2
Fillable Frames and Die
Ribbon
Buttons
Flourishes (on my wish list)
Inside & Out Thank You
Kraft Paper
I was going to buy the Get to the Point, but when I saw the set itself, I rethought it. I have numbers in my Alpha set and arrows arent really my thing. I was hoping that it would have had a "th", "nd" and "rd" in it for putting numbers on cards.
Was going to get the Aloha set, and while I think that surfboard and flower are cute, I don't have anyone I can call "dude" and get away with it. So I didnt think it wouldnt be used much, even though it was cute.
So did Nicole just handwrite in the "th" on her cards? I didn't look closely enough. I thought it was going to be in the Get to the Point set or the Get to the Point Sentiments. It seems simple enough to do but I don't particularly like my handwriting.
I have about a $200 order. I'm just gonna wait until the middle of next week to place though. I'm quite busy this weekend. I'm not gonna have a bad day, or change my destiny if I dont place the order right now. I do hope things work out over the next day or two. I feel bad that Nicole who always give great product releases and service has to listen to a bunch of whiny gossipy women complain about HER company and how PTI has made such a bad busniess decision in leu of new website coinciding with release BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.....................................

From what I read from here and on the blog, it seems like launching the new website two days before the release didn't really work out so well. That may be "whiny" but I don't think it's "gossipy." And I'm pretty sure dealing with customers and trying to keep customers happy is part of the job description of owning your own business.

No big deal, I'm just going to wait until the chartreuse paper is in stock. I'm sure I'll find more stuff to add to my cart in the meantime.

We were not really whiny and gossipy. But when we stay up til midnight to place orders that normally run out of stock and no one can get on the website and NO updates until shortly before release causes some to become worried and cranky.
NO ONE could get on the website starting at 10pm last night when it crashed.
I understand moving to a new website but doing it the day before a release was not a smart move and that has been proven.
We pay good money for these products and customers expect to be able to order when its time. That same expectations goes for every company there is.
As Ted said - how does that look on a brand new PTI customer?
There are many people that did not place orders last night as they did not read Nicoles blog to see to go to the OLD site they brought back just before release.
It was very frustrating for many. Hopefully they can get the issues resolved before next months release.

Perhaps providing constructive feedback to companies directly (in this case PTI) rather than openly bashing them on the message boards would be a nice change of pace. It is sad that even in the crafting world (where most of the time people are open to sharing ideas and being supportive) we can get so tied up in knots about not being able to get exactly what we want at the exact moment we want it.
Did PTI have a major fiasco on their hands last night? Of course they did...but I don't think they needed everyone freaking out about it. Yes, they are a business and need to operate in the most efficient way they can. But direct feedback to them is a much better way of getting the message across rather than having a hissy fit on message boards.
I have a few things on my wish list but I'll wait for the new Chartreuse CS so I can place a big enough order for free shipping. I love that new color, Hawaiian Shores blue & a few of the new dies!
Well, no hissy fit here. I just kept checking the site every so often before midnight to see if they got it up and running and sure enough--they pulled through! I think it's great they let us order last night and I guarantee they got more money out of me last night then they would have if I had to wait days and 'cool off' from the big release frenzy!!
I ended up placing 2 orders just to get the felt that showed up around 1:30am and bought WAY more than I originally intended. It was fun!
I got:
Up Up and Away and sentiments
Aloha
Fillable frames4 and die
mat stack II die
clouds die
Up Up and Away dies
eyelet lace die
chartreuse felt
linen and canvas impression plate
Giga Guide Lines set
I forgot about the felt! It wasn't up the first time around! I was just so excited to see the old store come up and I added everything and didn't even think about the felt! What a fun release! Just means maybe another order soon! Or when the paper comes in!
I am LOVING everything I am seeing from the DT! Can't wait to play and case some of their FAB ideas!

I think she did write it in June! I think I remember her saying that somewhere! I don't like my handwriting either! LOl!

I placed my order this morning and was able to get everything I planned on minus the new color of cs (don't the truck drivers know that we *need* our new color of pti cs?!). I was really excited that everything that I wanted was in stock since I usually seem to pick the things everyone else wants and they go out of stock very quickly. I have enough on my wish list to get the cs when it comes in and still qualify for free shipping.;)
Nichole & co. work really hard for 10 days to prime our pumps and get excited for the new releases. Why do some people act surprised when some of us are a little frustrated about staying up until midnight then not being able to order? No hissy fits, or whining here but I sure don't think it's fair to give people a hard time who are legitimately upset at not being able to order or participate in the release parties. Sheesh.

Well, first of all, they asked that no one contact them about the new site til tech has the chance to go through and work out the kinks.
Prior to May 1, the plan was to launch on the 10th of May and, if that didn't work, they were going to push back the new website launch until AFTER RELEASE to avoid problems. So, they were fully aware of the potential for a mess like this and for whatever reason, decided to forge ahead ANYHOW, despite telling us previously that they were going to try to avoid a release night crash.
So, tell me, what direct feedback can I offer them now? "For the record, you need several days lead time to ensure a successful transition of servers?" "Don't promise that you're going to do X, and then really do Y?"
I have nothing useful to offer, but that doesn't make me less annoyed with the situation, nor does it invalidate anyone else's frustration.

This is why I probably haven't bought anything from PTI in a long time. I hate the sneak peeks and the having to stay up to see what's new. And then not being able to order. I really don't need the hassle. I feel this way about every company's sneak peeks, not just PTI.
And I have no idea if the new website is an improvement over the old one, but I certainly hope it is.

Precisely what I was going to say. The company has spent three years "training" us to stay up until midnight and order in a huge rush. No surprise at all that people have come to expect to be able to do just that. It's crazy, but it's also kind of fun to have that shared experience each month. Is it sad that some are less kind than others in expressing their frustration or anger when it goes less than perfectly? Sure. But people are people, and everyone deals with frustration in their own way. I'm sure that in the light of day, most everyone has had a chance to calm down, including the PTI staff. And now they will have a whole month if need be to get things straightened out so that this won't happen again.

I can tell you that some of us may have been whiny, but I don't understand where you are coming up with the gossipy part.
Why the need to attack people that were obviously frustrated by something that PTI did wrong?
And I certainly don't understand why people get soooo defensive anytime that something negative is said about PTI. Nichole may be a very nice person, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't make mistakes. The same goes to all the people that work for her. And when you own a business you have to take the criticism.

I've given up staying up for the new releases, it's just not worth it to me any more. You have to hurry to place your order or they run out of things and that's too frustrating for me. All I want is a couple of the new dies but I refuse to pay that much shipping for 2 little dies and their shopping cart system doesn't allow them to change anything. Ah well, MFT has some neat cloud dies, too, and I can probably get those from my LSS soon.
I understand the frustration and I have decided to order when things will be sorted out. I work in customer service/tech support, and I know that the release of a new website is stressful. I nearly risked a burn out when the new website of the Company I work for was being tested. So many things can go wrong and it can be difficult to fix them.
I think that the decision to go live with the new website was too risky, probably they knew it and I am sure that they had to work so much behind the scenes.
I love PTI and I order every few months. However, I can see that there are always problems with something. Although I LOVE the countdown posts from the 10th of the month, I think that they should STOP for one release or two and fix the problems.
I know that everything goes so fast, I know that they release a lot of products, I can imagine that this can affect their business for a month or two and many loyal customers might be disappointed.
I think that they release so many different products every month and it seems a struggle to have everything ready for each release. I am sure that they are working very very hard but I don't know for how long PTI can keep releasing so many products every month. I think that they should slow down a bit. Somehow, I feel that they are struggling to cope with the amount of products released every month. I don't see this from other Companies.
This is my personal opinion, I am just a customer and I don't want to attack PTI or post any negative feedback.

Being a PTI fan from the very beginning, I totally understand and couldn't agree with you more. While I LOVE almost everything that they've been putting out, at times I feel it's too much. I'd rather have them concentrate more on the basics like stamps, inks, papers, etc., and work on perfecting those first before taking on other products. I know Nicole posted that they are working on a solution for their inks. IMO that issue should be tackled way a while back.
