No, this post has absolutely nothing to do with stamping or scrapping - directly. One of my favorite people on the planet - Alexandra Franzen - just posted an amazing piece on her website, and I want to link it here. I've been hearing from a lot of people and reading on a lot of threads that so many are in the doldrums - or worse - and thought that this illuminating little piece might make a difference. Enjoy: It all matters. | Alexandra Franzen
Sue, thank you. That was sobering, tingling and heartwarming all at once. We so often undervalue our contributions and you just never know the impact. Thank you for sharing that.

Reading that was incredible. It made me think, though, of all the times I have been abrupt, curt, or just plain rude - even mean! - to someone (whether a stranger, acquaintance, or loved one). And I wonder what that might have caused. :(. I tend to get very lost in my thoughts as I am someone who prefers ideas to people and so it takes real effort on my part to get outside of my own world. That is why I like volunteer work - it forces me to get outside of my head and do something beneficial to others.
I feel so convicted -in a very, very good way- by this article! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Thank you so much for this great article. It really shows how valuable those little random acts of kindness can be.
After my son's diagnosis, I became very sensitive to how linked we really all are as "humans", and what what I was experiencing were not just coincidences, but seemed to be "God incidences", because they didn't just happen by chance!!!!!

Like "ladyofcards," I do this with my cards. I get such personal joy from the creative process! Then I spread that joy by passing along my finished cards. I really don't need to hear back from any of the recipients. Joy comes in imagining their faces as they remove the card from the envelope. My Mom used to open the gigantic Chicago phone book and pick a random addresses to receive her handmade crocheted doily. Can you imagine the look of surprise?!? There's always enough time to share the joys in life.

I love that story about your mom! What a lovely thing for her to do. Crocheted doilies last forever. They are probably still making someone happy!
I send lots of my cards to friends and family, and they're so nice to let me know they appreciate them. I have a daughter-in-law in North Carolina who told me getting one of my cards was like "a little piece of art in her mailbox." How sweet is that?
