 What I mean is that there's a retired SU! set out there that there's no way I could afford! But I'd absolutely BEG someone for just a few images stamped on plain white paper if they have the set. Is it acceptable to ask for that? I'd also be willing to pay for cardstock, ink, postage, etc; or trade if I have anything they would be interested in. If it's okay to put that request out there, which forum section is appropriate? I'm asking here in the General section, but PLEASE move as needed.
My entire family are John Deere nuts; one uncle in particular has been helping me lay tile in my new house. I'd like to make him "something" (card, gift, etc) as a 'Thank you' and would love to have images from the "Tractor Time" set (apparently this came out BEFORE I discoved how much I like to stamp, so I missed it!). Specifically I'm looking for the older tractor images (NOT the new-model with the closed cab) since that is what we restore and show.
I found some embellies at Archivers last night, but does anyone know if they make JD paper??
toni-just name it. i may just have it i have over 500 SU sets
no,i don't have wild wild west-sorry
Not Wild Wild West! lol!
The response I receive on this site just amazes me over and over!! Hopefully some day I'll also be able to offer advice and help to someone new at the craft!
yes they do make JD paper! Our tractor is a 1954 Case and it is still working daily at the farm! I have seen the old tractor but I do not have the stamp.

I helped my Dad restore a 1935 JD "A" when I was 12 and we restored a 1942 JD "LA" when I was 15 - I'm 36 this year and we still have them! lol! Each of my Mom's 6 brothers and her sister have at least 1 old tractor - most have more. Uncle Dan collects, restores, sells, buys, etc, etc. So unfortunately ours are just parade babies. Any idea who might have the paper? I've checked Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn's and Archivers which are the only places I can think of in our area...
I have the set. My family has 6 restored Allis Chalmers. One was my great-grandfathers, that dad scrapped off the ditch bank on the farm and restored down to the last bolt. I would be happy to stamp some images for you.

My aunt owns an Allis. That's just awesome! Some of them show up in the most awful condition and I love seeing them all shiny again!
If you could, that would so fantastic! I'll PM you if that's okay??
I saw it at Hobby Lobby. I am trying to avoid house work today so I do not mind looking in my stash. I think I might have a sheet.
I was just there at lunch today looking and didn't see anything. But you know, our HL seems a little bare sometimes... There's been plenty of times that half their shelves are bare.
If I were part of WRAK (which I haven't joined yet, it seems too complicated) what I'd wish for would be Riley and Sophie images! It's not in our budget right now for me to go to Hanna Stamps website and buy a few stamps but I sure wish it was! Maybe some day I'll join WRAK but not just yet!

You might want to consider joining the RAK group so you can join the Wish-rak subgroup. In Wish-rak, you can wish for images (just like you've asked for here). Other wish-rak'ers who have the set can then stamp some for you. You get 3 wishes for "free". To earn more wishes ("bonus wishes"), you have to fulfill someone else's wish.
To join the RAK group, click on your username in the upper right corner to access the control panel. In the left hand column, scroll to down to Group Memberships (3rd from bottom). Click on the radio button in the row for RAK and press the Join Group button. It will ask you to fill in a reason - just enter something - we don't really use it for anything. We process the RAK membership requests every 2 weeks. Once your RAK membership is created, then you can access this thread to join the WISH-rak group. You'll get an error message about not having access if you try to follow that link before your RAK account is created.
Feel free to PM with questions. I've only covered the bare minimum here.

Wow - thanks so much for the information! I keep seeing mentions of WRAK, but only knew what RAK meant. I'll work through these directions and see where it gets me - should be able to bumble through....but we'll see!
I have seen John Deere scrapbook stuff at Fleet Farm...they are all over MN...do you have one near you?
I'll check this out - thanks much! Nope, no Fleet Farm, only a TSC (Tractor Supply Company) that replaced our Quality Farm and Fleet. TSC carries gift-type items at Christmas, but otherwise, nada...
I used all the JD paper on a page in the book-sorry. I will be more than happy to stop at Hobby Lobby tomorrow on the way to work and look.
That's ok - thanks much for even looking!! IF you HAPPEN to be in there for something else, it would be fantastic, otherwise, no worries...I can always look online... ;)
I think I've seen the paper you're describing from Oriental Trading Company (the scrapbooking part of the company though). I'll have to check it out and get back to you.
They have some cute pewter charms at Michael's if you want an embellishment for your page. I stockpiled some since my boys ride their JD battery powered tractors all the time

Michael's has tractor charms?? How the heck did I miss that?! Oh well, one more excuse to run by there...but I think I'll try a different store.

Hey, "Hi" Marilynn!!!!
LOL - great minds... Yes, Wish-rak is a bit more complicated than general RAK - just take it slow to begin with. Like RAK - it's all up to you how much you do. You'll be hooked in no time. When I joined they assigned me a "mentor" to help me through the process (I think they still do that but I don't know for sure). Almost everyone has questions to begin with, but wrak members are all willing to help newbies.

Hi!!!
I haven't joined WRAK, because of the *good cardstock* part. I have a very limited crafting budget and I'm afraid that the cardstock that I have isn't considered good. Is there any one out there who would like to swap images on *decent cardstock*?
