Since the spreadsheet that MrsClark2001 shared starts with 12/30, I've entered the three cards I made yesterday along with the two I made today. Wahoo - I'm ahead. But tomorrow I have to go to AC Moore and spend $25 so that I don't lose my rewards points. I guess I'll have to make more cards tomorrow and get to the gym so that I don't fall too far behind.

I think I'll try this this year. The year before last I did something simular, paid myself 1 for every LO completed as I have far to much stash and was a way to get me to use the stuff that had been sat here for years. If I used something really old I rewarded myself with an extra 1.
This sounds much better and give me more that I can spend guilt free
I'm going to try this! Last year (200 we went from DINK's to One Income and 2 kids. This year we are expecting another. Long story! I didn't really have too much guilt when buying things because we had disposable income, now that we don't, the guilt is always there. Hopefully this will help with creating and feelings! I'm going to add quilting too as that is an expensive, new passion of mine.
Cards 1 = $1.00, Scrapbook Layouts (2pg) 1 = $5.00; Altered Items/3D small = $1.00, large = $5.00; Wishes mailed 1 = $1.00
Baby Blanket = $30.00; Runner/Wall Hanging = $20.00; Queen = $50.00; King = $ 60.00
And thanks Mrs Clark for the spreadsheet!

OK - so I'm already in the hole. I made 6 cards and spent $29 at AC Moore today. I've decided that the gym will be .10 per minute, so I really have to work hard to make up for lost money.

I KNOW that the amount I spend is scary! But I'm going to try this! I like the idea of $1 card, $5 scrap book layout. Is that okay to modify the amounts a little like that? (Or do we then become "unofficial" members?) Also, what about ATC's.... do you get $1 each for those too?

I think most are doing $1 for ATC also. It's really up to you.
This is going to be good for us!! I hope.

Thanks! I think I've got it about organized now. Now for my next question. Logistically, how do you manage to keep it updated in your sig line. Do you go in every day and change your sig line to reflect the new totals of everything? And how much detail do you include. (As in, what is the standard way that folks usually report this.... just earned/spent, or how much in each categorry???) Sorry, Newbie here!
i suck! But it is helping me put things into perspective about cost per card..lol i promise to be better tomorrow. Hey, at least I didn't buy anything today

I think you do whatever works best for you. I've got a small dry erase board that I keep tallies on and I plan to update my siggy line once a week. So far I haven't been shopping this year so I'm ahead, but I'm sure that will change in the very near future.
Okay - I am going to join this one as well...I know I have made a few cards already - but some I can't remember if were technically on new years eve or new years!
I am just going to start with the 8 I know for sure were yesterday!

I always start with Christmas day, so my totals reflect everything from 12/25/08. Last year it was from 12/25/07.
I don't think it really matters which day you choose to start. The purpose is to get rid of the stash and have fun. Did you use up stuff from the ones you made on New Year's Eve or Day and did you have fun? Then count 'em!
I'm working on the rest of my "Christmas Cards" this weekend. Finishing up the other 50. I moved the end of Nov, have gone to the in-laws for both Holidays, and am still unpacking/living out of boxes...so I made my cards a mix between winter, Christmas and moving cards. When I'm done with them I need start on my daughter's baby shower thank-you cards. Thankfully her and her girlfriend decided they would make the shower invites and take that load off of me
Does anyone know...if you're a fan club member do you get 4 lines in your sig and 3 if you're not?
I did this on my own last year, but wasn't very accountable, but I was amazed with the amount of cards I made. My BIG goal for this year is to actually mail out those cards and not hoard them. I have a HUGE box of cards in lots of categories, but not send that many out (in comparison to what I make).
I always like to give myself positive info first, so it gives me a boost to get started.
2008 Stats- Card made 102
Scrapbook pages 62 (I am one of those people that is actually caught up, drives my friends crazy)
2009 Plan (started 12/29/0
$1 per card made
$2 per scrapbook page
No ultimate # goal- just to keep up in scrapbook and mail cards
I'm cruising right along so far this year. Helps that I'm putting together a basket for a local pre-school's yearly auction. Good thing adhesives don't count toward the totals or else I'd be in trouble. All these cards I'm going to have to make a trip out to Michael's today.
I would say NO, since the money was a gift. Just as if you had received the Stampin Up stuff as a gift instead of money, you would not want to count that. However, if you do want a true accounting of all you spend on stamping stuff this year, perhaps you could set the gift money you spend on stamping stuff as an extra category or in parentheses.

Seems like I should if I want a true accounting of the monies I spent on stamping, but . . .
It's all Mary's (EmGee458 ) fault. hehe She's our fearless leader over at the 2009 Christmas Card Challenge thread. This looks like a lot of fun!
I don't necessarily need to 'curb' spending but I only get to a real craft store 2x a year. So I will use STS to create a nice little shopping account for when I go in Nov. I'm a 'starving artist/writer' so I don't have a lot to put in the STS account. But I can transfer from my mad money jar to designate it just for this habit (yes I have many! LOL) so here's my plan.
Cards/ATC's - .50
LO - $1 (usually 2 pg layouts so easy $2)
Altered items - $2
Completing the CCC09 - $5
Per pound lost - $1
Now to see if I can rearrange my siggy line to accomodate.
Happy Saving!

Reason: 8 came out a smiley hehe
I just bought a Cuttlebug with a gift card and didn't include it in my totals. However, I found some folders on clearance that I bought with cash. Those folders are in my totals.
Just a heads up for anyone with a Joann's near them: clearance stuff is an extra 50% off. I got c-bug dies for $3.97 reg $16. I got one with tags and one with a frog, flower, butterfly and something else. They had about 8 different ones on clearance.
Woo hoo! My SU demonstator had her playday today so I got 4 more cards done. I think I am going to add one more element to my challenge goals: weight loss. Since exercise is part of it, I am hoping weight loss will follow.
Here is what I'm doing:
cards = $1 each
scrapbook LO = $2/page
Exercise = $.10/min
Pounds lost = $1/lb
(If you are doing the January Scapbook challenge, you may have seen my message already. I accidently posted it there.)
Thanks for the spreadsheet - I love to [pretend to] be organized! I'm another person who only gets to a "real" craft store a few times a year, so I want to build up an amount to spend and not feel too guilty about it.
So, here's what I'm going to do:
$1 per card
$5 per handmade gift or altered item
$1 per 15 minutes of exercise
Count me in this year!! My one big New Year's resolution this year is to use, use, use what I have. I buy, buy, buy and Hoard, Hoard, Hoard!! I do make some cards/layouts, but not that many. I've already updated my calendar with all of the dates that I need to make cards for... I just bought my Cricut the other day, so I've got to justify the money I've spent ALREADY this year! I guess I'll be making things for a while before I'm allowed to spend again! Sheesh!! Hopefully this will also give me incentive to actually post the things I've made in my gallery!

I can't open this :(
Does someone have this in pdf. ??
Thank you!

Don't blame it on me, Kelly!! I like the idea of earning money for losing weight! My school is doing another round of Biggest Loser, which starts this week...I think I'll go with the $1 per lb., too! I also like the $5 for completing the CCC, too!! Thanks, Kelly!
I have absolutely no will power, and I spend and do not use.........
So, I am going to participate- no spread sheet for me though, just will keep my numbers posted below.......
I make ATC's for the Technique Junkies exchange- my goal is 10 per month, so I am going to keep track of these as well.
I have been experiencing a terrible time loosing weight, and my weight yo-yo's up and down 5-20 pounds, so if I loose, I do not get credit for 30 days- so I know it will stay off.......
My goal is to use sets purchased that I have never used- but had to have- this will really help me with that!
This is going to kill me- A Huge Thanks for starting this and hello to all of my 'support' group members- we can do this!!! YES we can!
