Just love this challenge! I was inspired by both this Tim Holtz themed card with woodgrain and layers along with that wonderful bird image- I have been drawn to green and brown tones, especially craft and woodgrains in particular- so I went with this mouse, hiding behind sushi "grass"- near a tree. Added a fan style waxed paper element above my tree, along with a vertical right corrugated border topped with a horizontal crosshatch style border. Did gathered twine and a gathered and knotted yarn embellishment, and added 2 sentiment panels, faux outline stitched with petal embellishments on 1. Finished with a olive green grains sticker from my lunch. Here's Mixed Media Mouse

Dawn, I love this... except I don't really have a favorite color. LOL! I do use a lot of black for layering on my cards... and it seems I also use a lot of yellow, so that's the colors I chose for my card, which you can see - HERE.
Though Christmas cards are being made more and more in a wide variety of colors, I still love a red and green traditional Christmas cards. I also love them with a sparkly sheen added with foil papers, embellishments, and glitter, etc.
