I live in a suburb half way between DC and Annapolis, I've lived in the DC Metro area my entire life. One of the fun things we did when we were little was the Easter Egg roll on the White House Lawn. So when I read about this challenge I thought that I could make an Easter Card.
Today would have been his birthday and he would have been 107. He was always so proud that he shared the same Birthday as that of one of our presidents.
The first thing that came to mind was "The Mamie Eisenhower Rose" stuck in my mind from childhood, but I'll be darned if I can find an internet reference to it, so I'll post this in honor of the White House's rose garden and Rose Kennedy, mother of JFK. This was a challenge for me considering I'm an Aussie - I actually had to do research!! Did you know that Thomas Jefferson had a pet mockingbird called 'Dick' that lived in the study of the White House?! I didn't - but I was inspired by the story to make my card!!
Fun and educational challenge! I thought of the gingerbread house that I saw on a White House tour during the holidays a few years ago. I do not have a gingerbread house stamp so I made gingerbread men instead. The tradition began in 1965 with Tricia Nixon. Run, run as fast as you can....... by Kim Scotti at Splitcoaststampers
What a fun challenge Wendy! I chose Lyndon Baines Johnson for my president, His wife is Lady Bird Johnson so this was easy. Just add birds to my card. Here it is Wings Of Love.

I'm pretty late, but I didn't manage to upload this card earlier.
So here's my Peanut Birthday - thanks for a fun challenge!
