F4A89 - 6" of FUN! - 11/04/11
F4A89 – 6” of FUN! – 11/04/11
I came across the ca-YOOTEST little treat box on my friend Deb Felts’ blog … and they are made from a little 6”x6” piece of patterned piece of paper. SUPER-DUPER easy!!
It uses one 6 x 6 inch piece of cardstock, scored in thirds tic-tac-toe style, at 2 and 4 inches, so its overall size is approximately two inches. The photo attached to this post shows you where you need to score your paper. It actually works best with patterned paper, as it is not a s thick as cardstock, and folds much cleaner and easier.
All of the horizontal and vertical lines are folded peak-style, while the diagonal score lines are folded valley style. Add a 2"x4" piece of patterned paper, folded at 2" along the 4" side and adhere to back of box. I used a Velcro dot to close the box. (And did I mention that these are SUPER EASY to make???)

handy tip for alternative closure
Ah!! I have one of these that an SCS-er sent me with some St. Patrick's day candy in it. DH (origami fan) straight away tried making his own using it as a template, but I haven't tried yet - I'll be along later.
Pidgesmom actually added an extra piece with a tab in hers to make it easy to close without needing velcro dots: Paper Vernissage: Happy St. Patrick's Day

What a darling treat holder, Wendy....quick and easy too! Very timely for me since I need to make 20 place favors for a holiday dinner. From one 12" sq DP, I can get 4 favors. Thanks to Deb, for your inspiration for today's challenge.

Thanks for a great challenge! This was a little harder for me as I do not have a Scor Pal and do most of the scoring by hand. Still lots of fun and I am planning on making more for the holidays!

F4A89 fall treat box by Crafty Julia
For today's Free For All Challenge, I made a small treat box, using my Scor Pal. I am not good at boxes, but I did enjoy making something new! I decorated it with an orange stamped flower from SU's Carte Postale, and some DC fall leaves, stamped in yellow with the same stamp, then sponged in orange and red. I added a little embossed stem and leaves to one of the leaves for a little texture, and finished with some brown ribbon from SU. Have a good weekend!

How... stinkin'... cute! Oh yes, Wendy... ca-YOOT, is so right! Before I go quickly try this adorable little mini sized explosion box, I thought I'd share my Explosion Purse as it is the exact same scored areas but on a 12x12 piece of card stock or DSP. Off to minisize! TFS!
EDITING: It actually took me longer to upload my photos than it did to make this stinkin' cute little box!
