Favourites of 2010
Thank you Susan for posting this thread every week and thank you for looking back over the year and reminding us all of some of the wonderful CAS cards that were created in 2010. Like Susan I had trouble keeping the number of favourites down to a manageable size. Here are ten that inspired me.
girlgeek101 inspired me to make my own version of this beautiful emboss resist tree
sleepyinseattle created a gorgeous soft and blended Autumn foliage card.
resqbarbie's rainbow butterflies are a happy and artistic take on the classic 4 square layout
bfinlay made a card which makes me happy with all its whimsical curls and swirls
I love everything biggan creates but this leaf still amazes me with its texture and colour
Everything about this card by kdunbrook is perfect: colour, layout, images!
The discovery of hobbydujours gallery was a highlight of 2010 not the least this atmospheric card
The simplicity of Lateblossom's creations always inspire and this was no exception
Lisaadd has used white space beautifully with a perfectly positioned organic image
Often less is more, beautifully displayed in this simple design by atsamom

This year has been FANTASTIC for cas. I wouldn't even know where to begin to list my favs for the year as my list is soooooo long.

I logged in to email this morning and couldn't figure out why my ol' card was getting comments again. Thanks for today's honor and also for the year-long inspiration. There's a lot of talent on this forum and this give me motive to keep on keeping on! Hope to sneak time away from the kids to check out the rest of the list and, perhaps, make one of my own. And maybe I'll be able to play along more in 2011! Happy New Year!

All I can really contribute to this thread is that there hasn't been a CAS card that I've looked at yet that I just don't adore. All of you have such a unique and individual style that shines in all of your cards that makes each and every one of them so very special and distinct. Some of the busier cards, while lovely in their own right, do start to look similar at times, but I do believe CAS cards are "harder" to create to keep them clean, simple, and unique. So, I can't just pick a few favorites from all of them because that would be doing all of you a disservice, but would rather offer up my appreciation and congratulations to every single CAS card maker who's inspired me because you're all superstars in my book and make the list for this year.

Nicely put, Cindy. It does feel somewhat artificial to limit a list when there are so many amazing cards out there, including yours! In fact, I enlisted the help of my mother to limit my lists as much as I did. Just couldn't do it myself! |
